"‘The Twilight Zone’: Seth Rogen To Star In Episode Of CBS All Access Series" (Deadline.com - Friday, 3/1/19) -G
Two more weeks to go as of tomorrow until the new series' debut. Also, while perusing The Twilight Zone Wiki, I came across the page for The Narrator which described all the narrators of the show's various versions as their own actual characters, though it's unclear whether they were different people for each version or if it was a single Narrator who changed form from one version to the next ala a Time Lord from Doctor Who. It never previously even occurred to me to view Rod Serling and the subsequent narrators in that way, but that's actually a pretty interesting concept. To that end, will this new version's Narrator (whom I'm assuming will look and sound like Jordan Peele) actually be visible like Rod Serling and Forest Whitaker were before him or will only his voice be heard like all the other versions' Narrators? -G
There'll apparently be ten episodes this season. The first two will debut on Monday, April 1st with the rest released weekly on Thursdays starting on April 11th. The first two episodes will be "Nightmare at 30,000 Feet" (which is inspired by - but is not a remake of - the original Twilight Zone episode "Nightmare at 20,000 Feet" which starred William Shatner)... ...and "The Comedian". -G
So-so episodes. But I did love the casting for episode 1. 2 Indian/Pakistan-American characters portrayed on screen in a role that probably would have gone to White actors/actresses.
CBS Will Release a Black-and-White Version of Jordan Peele's 'Twilight Zone' - The Verge https://www.theverge.com/2019/5/11/...jordan-peele-black-and-white-version-may-30th In April, CBS All Access launched Jordan Peele’s reboot of The Twilight Zone, the latest in a string of remakes of the franchise, and the latest anthology-style show to come from a streaming service. Now, CBS is releasing a new version of it, this time in black-and-white, which harkens back to the style of the original. The first couple of episodes of the new series cut really close to the original — so much so that reviewer Samantha Nelson noted that they’re a bit weaker than they might have otherwise been. Some viewers complained about another aspect of the show: Peele’s version was in color, a departure from the originals, which came in black and white. Some fans noted that they were adjusting their TV’s settings so that the new episodes would look like the originals. Now, the black-and-white version will debut on CBS All Access on May 30th, and CBS released a trailer that shows off the change, which also provides a good overview of the series itself. The original colored version of the series will also remain available.
