And the recent spate of goals - lots of them - exciting! And the suspense as the leadership improvement program unfolds! Forgot to include those. Exciting times to be a Revs fan. Not boring at all!
I agree 100% about the experienced coaches but actually wouldn't be that disappointed if they hired Savarese. The cosmos were not exactly the most stable and well-run org so it wouldn't be a huge departure for Gio. Plus, and most importantly, he won a lot while he was there. IIRC, they have the revs a good battle in the USOC a year ago. Another way to look at it - there are far worse alternatives than Savarese.
Agree completely. Given who the Revs are, how they typically operate, what their overall philosophy is and how they make changes at a glacial pace, Savarese seems like, far and away, the best available, realistic choice. Not like they are going to hire Pep Guardiola or Jose Mourinho, although I heard that Burns was asking about Rinus Michels' availability....
Saw an article about a security guard in Atlanta who is positioned right outside their supporters section and celebrates goals with the fans. Then I got to thinking about the revs. Can you imagine!??? Krafty's army of Robocop security ...SHOWING EMOTION...about sawwker....outside the Fort?? After attending revs games for 21+ years, I think the most emotion I've ever seen a cop or security guard outside the Fort show is a smile. Not a chance for actual emotion. Sigh.
Kurt Larson: Top 5 MLS general managers and technical directors of 2017 October 3, 2017, 7:19PM EDT Kurt Larson Burns didn't make the list. I can only assume he made the honorable mention list...
Well, he is 4-5 steps ahead of everyone else, playing 3-D chess when everyone else is playing checkers, and he is, in fact the sharpest tool in the shed, so he better be!
Even a better example is the Sox bullpen cop who openly celebrates homers hit into right field. Just shows the difference between the Sox owners and Krafty Bob (could you imagine "The Bob" getting a photo op with a Team Ops staffer?).
The couple of times that a security guard in the Fort got anywhere "close" to us, they were moved to a different section.

Executives from the new third-division league will travel to Providence, RI, before making their way north to Worcester, MA, Manchester, NH, and Portland, ME.
With the pats beating up the raiders at the Azteca in Mexico City yesterday, it was nice to finally see a team I support win there.
I cannot find it now - but MLS had the top goal from each team. My initial reaction would have been Rowe's bomb in the Montreal game - not only a great long distance goal, but the circumstances around it - almost as time expired and Montreal had just scored, Revs to get a first road win on the last game of the season, etc..... It was not that one though, so I got it wrong - try and guess before watching....if you can find it.
Not directly Revs related, but I find his views on player development in the 16 - 18 year range very interesting. I am sharing here for those who might not have seen it. Christian Pulisic's article in the Players Tribune.

There was no affiliation this past season either. Of course that news was broken via an offhand remark from the Rhinos coach, not by any release from the Revs.
