He's mixed race if I'm not mistaken. Even if he was 100% white - a meaningless distinction - so what?

Wait: I don't think I've ever seen a birth certificate with the occupations of the parents on it. Could be wrong, but that sound strange.

I have no idea who it was, but I can name a dozen folk singers from 1969 who could have slipped under the radar then but are known now, and another 2 or three dozen who never amounted to much but are still recognizable names to people like me.
