When the riots in LA were happening back in 1992, my grandmother was pleading with my dad to bring his family to stay with her in Germany to stay safe. She had no concept that LA was 3,000 miles from where we lived. The shooting in Dayton hit pretty close to home for me, I know a few people that were in the area when it happened, but it isn't going to keep me from doing anything, isn't going to scare me. I look at it this way, I'm not lucky enough, good or bad, to either get shot at a random shooting or win the lottery. The odds of either happening are about the same.
