Definitely an improvement. Last year you had too many lapses in concentration from Ruben Semedo, Schelotto, Marvin. This year you have experienced players. Also our midfield has been defending well, Battaglia has been a rock defensively.

Piccini had a good game yesterday too. But we haven't really played any really tough opponents yet. True tests are yet to come

Matheiu is a solid player. Has lapses but overall he is dependable. Same for Coates. Coentrao if he can regain fitness and confidence is a big improvement. Can't wait to see Ristovski play. Rui also deserves big credit.

Bruno Fernandes brought into the Portugal squad to replace the injured Pizzi for the qualifiers vs. Faroe Islands and Hungary. That makes six Sportinguistas on the national team.

Coentrao comes off injured after 26 minutes today. Looks like a thigh injury. Anxious to see what the result is and if he'll be out for a while.

Shocker. Dude is a vagina. He's literally ALWAYS hurt. He cannot be trusted. Three games in. I knew it would happen, just not so soon

Unreal man, I don't get it. Like I'm not surprised I just don't understand how some people are just always getting hurt

    Not.
At least a vagina gets banged up regularly and keeps on performing.

Looks like its not as bad as first feared. Doesn't look like he'll be missing many games, he might be rested in the next game though.

Acuna came on as a sub in the 1st half of Argentina v Venezuela.

After Venezuela took a shock lead, a Great assist by Acuna gave Icardi the equalizer

True but Argentina was seriously lacking in the 2nd half, particularly towards the end it was pretty much Messi + 10

True, they were lucky to come out with a draw as Venezuela had some excellent chances to get the winner.

Sporting CP announced to the shareholders that for the 2016/17 season, SCP ended with a profit of 30.5M euros.

Among other things, there has been an increase in operational costs mainly due to salaries and multiple player acquisitions, but the record sales of Joao Mario & Slimani (as well as Ruben Semedo) contributed to this positive result.

This transfer window's acquisitions are also included (with the exception of Mathieu and Ristovski). Adrien's recent sale is also not included.

Interesting note: Doumbia is listed as costing 7.2M (3.7M in comissions/signing-on fee to the player)

Watching the game today I wasn't 100% sure, but they didn't make me vomit instantly and I was wondering. Did they change the green on the alternates? They look more vibrant and, well, green rather than the stomach acid/infected snot yellow they looked like before.

or is it just my eyes?

I know they changed the socks on the Home kits from the backlash so I'm wondering if the same happened with these.

Bruno Fernandes named player of the month, midfielder of the month, youth of the month and goal of the month (against Guimarães). Quite the debut.

Fransico Geraldes and Gelson Martins were also in the running for youth of the month.

Rui Patricio was 2nd for keeper of the month and Sebastian Coates also 2nd for defender of the month.

JJ 3rd for coach of the month.

    More Here

Justified, if he keeps it up he'll win it more times.

Bruno has been an outstanding signing so far. I know he was only with sampdoria but I was surprised we signed him as I thought he would have bigger clubs with more money to offer after him. I think the move has suited ourselves and himself absolutely perfectly, long may it continue
