Yeah I heard he would retire as well. I wonder if that's something he will reconsider. Get his 300th in honour of them or something. I'm sure it's unbearable to think of right this moment. Either way I wouldn't blame him.

There has been a great amount support and respect throughout the football and sport communities. Atletico Nacional wants them to be named Sudamericana champions. The top flight teams in Brasileiro Serie A are willing to loan them players and have them immune from relegation. Small things in the grand scheme but classy gestures non the less. Its a terrible thing, but it's always nice to see groups band together like this. Still, very sad.

I had the Benfica game recorded because I had to work but didn't get s chance to watch it before Sporting played. I couldn't believe it when they said Marítimo won 2-1 on the broadcast. Huge game in December indeed. All the top teams have left the door open at different times this year.

Thank god we got Adrien back from injury as soon as we did.

    Hi guys ::)

January is coming very soon, where do you think Sporting CP should focus on buying in the next transfer window? New CMS? New fullbacks? Where?

I know a Sporting fan and he's not happy at all with the backups in the midfield zone, is he wrong?

Personally I think its pretty simple..win on sunday and we're champions.

I know there is half a season to go but this is a big opportunity. Benfica are on a bad run and if we can pick ourselves up from last night and go and win away from home then it shows weve got the making of champions

A little premature man - remember we won at the Luz 3-0 last year and lost the title because we lost at home 1-0 to them later on

COMUNICADO SPORTING CLUBE DE PORTUGAL – FUTEBOL, SAD

    Por Jornal Sporting
    15 Dez, 2016

    COMUNICADOS

Paulo Paiva announces he is a candidate for SCP president - the timing couldn't be better haha, right after a home loss.

Lol he's got no chance. Would be nice to see some real competition for the spot, safe to say BdC hasn't delivered

Well your right - this morning he said he's no longer a candidate.

Honestly it would take a very convincing plan to challenge BdC as he has a ton of support from the fans. Although I don't agree with how he handles certain things, there's no question we became more competitive since he took over.

    It's simple:

    • BDC needs to stay off the bench and needs to stop meddling into coach's plans. He does not belong on the bench
    • Focus on the things that matter, not whether or not we won 18 titles or 22.
    • Fire JJ
    • Replace JJ with a non-Portuguese coach who will pick the best players available.
    • Do not provide that coach with power than he needs (i.e. JJ)
But regardless, as @GoodDead has pointed out, as well as others around here, the script is written for SLB to win it so unless there are any investigations or major reform, we won't win anything.

    Have a good season guys!

One thing is for sure, get ready for a ton of speculation from here until March when the elections take place. There will be a hundred names that are gonna be spit out by the media to challenge BdC

If he wins any cup competition, he might still have legs at season's end, otherwise he's gone.

João Pereira look set to sign with Trabzonsport. According to DN, we're trying to sign Mayke, from Cruzeiro, to replace him. A Bola, however, claims we'll get André Geraldes back from Vitória FC.
