The other Thiago is great but I would take a Thiago Motta (a younger version) over him. He is more what we need.

I would too, but only because Thiago A. is hurt half the time.

Yeah, we definitely need a healthy coq and to bring g in a deeper playmaker

I think we should try and get a premium for ramsey and ox this summer and giroud if possible but it will never happen

I really think an interchangeable front 3 with ozil behind would be great

    .........Theo
    Danny...ozil.....sanchez

I like being able to interchange Theo/Giroud, and I don't think we should be selling Ramsey or Ox unless someone blows us away - we have enough trouble executing multiple signings, and for all the frustration with Ramsey and Ox, they're good players. And we've got a lot of turnover coming up this summer anyway, as we're like to lose Arteta, Flamini, and Rosicky, so we'll need to sign:

    1. A backup DM
    2. Another CB as Mertesacker and Koscielny need to be replaced
    3. A controller type CM (Granit Xhaka is the dream here) who will go into the first XI
    4. Hopefully, another wide attacker who will go into the first XI

That's four signings we already need (and this assumes we bring back Jenkinson for his rightful place on the bench/spot starts). Don't need to add any more.

Id prefer Welbeck to Walcott as the alternative to Giroud if we cannot find an upgrade on Giroud. Or even another first team LW and push Alexis in instead. In addition to your above.

Ramsey is a good player (not a great one) but he does not fit the current system (with 2 CM's) and he will not dislodge Ozil as the No 10. Ox, I am not convinced he is that good of a player. He will be 23 soon, has been there 5 years and has been average to mediocre, time to cut our losses. From the Ramsey, Ox, Theo, I will be ok to sell two of them and throw some silly money at the two of the likes of Xhaka, Kros, Griezmann, Fekir or Dybala. I would add Joel C to that "sell list" as well.

Umm... Santi Cazorla? His attributes? His value to the club? After all this is the Santi Cazorla thread. <sigh>

Average to mediocre? Ox yeah its kinda sad when you really look at it but hasn't he been hurt a lot too.

I would be ok to sell Ramsey, Ox and Theo if we could bring in the likes of the players mentioned because honestly we're just a notch below the CL winning clubs.

Yeah but currently owned by Arsenal.

Which to me makes it more meaningful and less speculative than talking about selling Ramsey/Ox/Theo for Griezmann/Fekir/Dybala/etc/etc.

But forget that... that's not really my issue. People can dream and debate those potential moves until the cows come home.

But there's a proper thread to do that! So that this and every other thread on this board isn't polluted like this. Pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee?

Yep. Love his skill and composure. Was a little slow tonreleasenthe ball today though. Selection nightmare in midfield this season for the boss.

THE most skilful player we've got. The one I tell my boys to watch. If they turn out to be half as good, on one foot rather than two, they'll do just fine!

So sorry to have missed your birthday yesterday Santi. At 32 you've still got at least a few good years left in you, so please get well soon, and come back to right where you were when you when down injured. We could've used you yesterday in our 2nd loss of the season, to help with both our defense and feeding our offense. The sooner you're back the better, but please can you make it back for the Bayern tie??

We're closing in on 1 year since Santi went down injured. Is there any chance we'll see him back soon? Or ever? He's hugely missed!

    Huge losss for us indeed
But probably somewhat understated how big of loss he is... ideal player for wenger style
I hope he can pull twenty games this season

Wow, that would seem like a near miracle, given where he seems to be at right now.
