Halftime of a friendly game between Bolton and Espanyol and Vaz Te has scored twice helping his team to a 2-0 lead.

Vaz Te and Varela really need breakout seasons for us.

We need it for euro 2008.

Vaz te will hopefully get the confidence of his coach and msot importantly confidence in himself now, play his proper number 9 position and do fantastic this season.

    Portugal needs you :)

This is going to be Vaz Te's season, I can feel it. Lee's tactics and use of 4-4-2 will suit him.

We need that highlights to those goals.

He also had a pretty good summer for the U-21 if I am not mistaken.

I was able to see the 2 pre-season goals that Vaz Te scored. One was a well placed header crossed in from the far right sideline. Vaz Te simply used his athleticism to get to the ball.

On the second goal he received a pass inside the box, turned and slotted in a low left footed shot then went into the right hand corner.

It's looking more an more likely that Vaz Te will feature in the first few games of the season.

Especially as it looks like Diouf is being frozen out.

Oh Prenn ....how things change. I see your view of this young man seems to have altered.

Please have the conviction to keep with your own beliefs.....remeber your quotes about him at Hull?

Well, Vaz Te was absolutely diabolical today. All he did was give the ball away, put in awful crosses and have a shot that bent back and went out for a throw in.

A talent indeed. I'm still very skeptical of him...

So far only H. Almeida proved to be a promising striker.

Varela is our best prospect, as strong as almeida, but alot omre fleet of foot with some great skill.

Our best striker the past 2 euro u21's.

Vaz te played the wing today didnt he? i ddint see the match but if he did it explains his performance..

he needs to play as a striker or right behind the frontman as a number 9.

Considering how well he played for Werder last season...I really doubt that.

Alright I will rephrase, I have seen Vaz Te be more productive for the U-21 then Almeida....

Considering that one of them played well for Werder (and actually scored) and their fans like to emphasize that, there's clearly a difference.

Sure that so far we haven't seen Vaz playing much...but he needs to prove himself out there no matter what. I'm skeptical until the time he makes a great season with some club...that's how we know strikers are talented...until then, doesn't make much sense complimenting his scoring skills if he never actually showed them. And who cares about his technique? HE'S A FORWARD, or he scores or he's useless.
I admit the potential is there but unlike other roles, strikers are only good strikers if they actually score. It's not only doubting his talent but also the club that doesn't seem to know exactly what to do with him and therefore screwing his chances to develop.

P.S.: I accidenly hitted the previous one without knowing. This is the full post.

But considering ur reply, I wonder if u've seen much of the group stages in the last 2 years.
