Just read this on Wikipedia concerning Vaz Te...

"In December 2010 after less than six months in Greece, it was announced that Vaz-Te and Panionios had come to an agreement to mutually terminate his contract."

Maybe some home cooking will do him some good.

Scored 10 goals for them in the league before being bought by West Ham(1st place team) in January.

Scored a goal for them a few days back, and with 11 goals is the highest scoring foreighn player in the championship.

I have to say considering the injuries he's had and whats happened to his career the past 3 years, this is a remarkable turn around.

    One Word: CONFIDENCE.

I am willing to give him a chance and see what he does... you can't overlook these players.

those goals were quality (the first was shitty goalkeeping though), we should call him up and take a chance on him since all our strikers suck anyway, the championship is probably the best 2nd tier league in the world, look at how Swansea are doing after they got promoted.

Vaz Te with the winning goal that takes west ham up into the premier league, beating Blackpool in the Wembley playoff final

Yup. Bento is dumb for not looking at him as the second tier striker, to obsessed with Postiga and Almeida guys that never do it big for us. Helder is stilling living in 2004 and Hugo is inconsistent.

With our strategy, any striker would be irrelevant.

What strategy? A streaky forward is gonna be the difference for us. Nelo or Vaz Te would be my choice over Postiga/Almeida. Both those guys haven't been able to come up big when it matters. Helder is still living in 2004, we need more from him.

I think thats a bit harsh on Postiga, im not really a fan of his but he has scored goals for portugal at important moments and Hugo Almeida was close to our best player against spain at the world cup. So i think they can do a job at this tournament and looking forward to Brasil our team will be much stronger with the development of some of the young players.

Harsh? I just want the best for the team and we haven't been able to produce an elite striker. Vaz Te earned a spot with his play but Bento plays favorites. It seems postiga/almeida are on the team by default rather than really exploring the better option.

that seems to be the case, they could go to 2nd division in Qatar and still get called up

Andy Carroll just signed for West Ham. Vaz Te has some competition.
