Allegedly there was a team meeting and Ramos, Modrić and Benzema were screaming on other players to get serious. That would be all fine and dandy well if they would not suck also which is even bigger problem considering they should be the ones who are pulling the wagon. But there is a positive. Marcelo basically admitted he is utterly shitty this season and has taken substantial share of the blame for our defensive woes. If true, rep+ for Marcelo. Now only if we had proper coach to steer the ship properly.
As club captains, it's a good for them to take responsibility and get the team to improve. However, it's all talk until I see the greater effort on the field.
The thing is players like Modric and Kroos can play "smarter" and it doesn't necessarily require them to exert more "physically" but our younger players (like Asensio and Vinicius) aren't there yet. For guys like Vasquez and Casemiro, their whole game is about effort, if you ask them to tone it down and play smarter (better) they will be like fish out of water. Then you have Marcelo and Benzema who habitually throughout their careers have managed to give less than 100% and makeup for it with natural talent, I don't see them reversing that at this point (at least not long term). What we are really lacking is 2-3 players that can win a game on their own. All of Benzema, Bale, and Asensio are great one off players, they can win 1 game with a great performance; but they aren't going to do it over and over again, repeatedly, during the course of a season. While players like Griezman or Dybala may be more prone to choke under pressure they are also more likely to give man of the match performances in the 30 other games they play and "show up" more consistently.
I know. this is why I laugh at those who think we can replace Modric with the guys we have on the bench now and we would be better off.
Agreed , also , as Modric and Marcelo have apparently done ( Modric I know for sure), I hope Ramos and Benz know that they have to improve as well, no point “screaming” at others when your own level isn’t that great either and not at least admitting that
I'm glad leaders like Luka and Marcelo are taking responsibility for their play this season. We heard Rafa did the same. Good to have people like that who don't just stand up to get trophies but also stand up when times are bad. Sometimes its not about effort. Sometimes you're just out of form. This is where the manager's tactics/planning and selection comes into play. Unfortunately we don't have a manager so we will just have to play through the bad form of all these players and hope that it ends sooner rather than later.
Real Madrid have conceded 35 goals in the first 30 matches of the season, the 4th highest number of goals conceded in the 21st century. https://t.co/6IF1TGYVse

The major difference was not bringing in another forward last year. This year we sold Cristiano and never replaced.
Yeah really. Cristiano went into the beast mode in the second half of the season. The difference will probably be even more significant.
Also, the basketball team has been doing pretty nice and i got to watch them in person a few times this season, even though i was sick during one match i still went out to watch them and was absolutely destroyed for a few days, the team deserves every bit of support. At this moment the hoops team is the pride of the entire insititution for me. Trying to watch the youth team live in the international competitions as well.
Vallejo got injured in the training again and broke down into tears. Solari tried to console him. MARCA | Vallejo se volvió a romper en el entrenamiento de este lunes. His career has barely started.
More injuries than games this season. So strange to see soneone break down so much. Definitely feel for him. He had promise.
