Ladies and gentlemen, myself and the all the AAXI crew want to apologize for being unable to produce the AAXI this week. We know you all look forward to reading it every week, and the truth is we look forward to writing it. However, this past weekend we just weren't able to dedicate the time necessary to producing a quality product (not that has stopped us in the past). We hope you enjoy your games this weekend and are that much more excited for next weeks AAXI. Now on to the Week 16 lineup (it's a doozy, trust me): Drumroll please. Justin Mapp :: Chicago Fire (386,192) What? He's that damn good, ok? Eric Vasquez :: Columbus Crew (1) A a 30-yard rocket from the kid for his first goal in his first game. He definetly deserves a spot. Plus One All of you for being such good sports about this Thanks everyone. __________________ The AAXI Week 16 Contributors are fidlerre, nutmeg, andrewt14, zcgf02 (they're the only ones who were able to contribute at all so give them some respect, it's the rest of us that slacked off) Header by Chicago1871 List compiled and edited by Chicago1871 (hey, somebody had to do it).
During the All-Star game, a bunch of MLS players got together in a bar. Twellman was saying how much of a crock it was that only Justin Mapp and Eric Vasquez got to be nominated to the All-American list during week 16. Mapp said, "Hey, I think two guys are all you need". Chris Klein said "Prove it". So Eric Vasquez called the Department of Homeland Security and when the MLS Select team tried to go to Spain to play Real, they were all arrested. Instead, Eric and Justin took a seperate flight to Madrid and played Real all by themselves. Of course the rest of the MLS players could not see the game because it was not televised. All they had was the scoreboard on the MLSNet site. As they watched it, they cheered as the following line was added to the report: MLS - Vasquez (Mapp) 14 Then they cheered again shortly thereafter: MLS - Mapp (Vasquez, Mapp) 31 But then there was nothing for a long time, until finally: Real Madrid - Owen (penalty) 78 And the game ended 2-1. The MLS guys wanted a report of the game, so they got Adu to call Vasquez and Mapp, Adu having the most free minutes left. Freddy asked, "What happened? You were doing so well until the end of the game!". Mapp replied, "Yeah, we did great until we both got red cards just before halftime". Everyone laughed. The MLS Select team was never heard of again.
