ADL about to blow up his own club. First he is "taking legal action" against them for refusing to stay in Ritiro, now he is selling 2 of his top hitmen: https://www.calciomercato.com/en/ne...es-mertens-callejon-to-leave-in-january-13563
Conte being Conte. Always needs a built in excuse: https://www.calciomercato.com/en/news/report-conte-s-outburst-annoyed-inter-s-hierarchy-98813
Did Conte really expect to get a €100 meal when he hangs out at a €5 diner? He knew what he was getting into and he got at least one player he asked to get. He could have made peace with Icardi. Maybe Sensi & Barella can be approached on a bargain.
I hope that he gets no one, at least until we get 10 straight. Remember: they have the mid 2000 scudetti with essentially no Juve to compete with
Might watch the second half of the MLS CUP but along with the other 500,000 Italo-Canadians, I will be watching Juventus -Milan first! Go TFC!
Seattle Sounders win MLS Cup! 3 - 1 Just saw the last 20 minutes as I was watching the Juve -Milan match . If Toronto won , Michael Bradley will have had a guaranteed $6.5 million dollar contract option as that is the deal he had when they bought him from Roma. Now that they lost 3-1, he may be leaving the club for his dads team in LA...I’m betting he will try and get the best deal somewhere else... I can’t stand the Seattle Sounders but it’s nice to see 70,000 hometown fans celebrating a championship.
There is a lot of things wrong with the league and I'm sure all of us who follow the Euro and Serie A leagues living in North America would rather watch those leagues they are use to. Whether its a B, C or D level league, one thing is certain though, MLS has grown immensely and to heights that no one ever dreamed of. The league started in 1996 and its still young. I don't think there is a minor or even major sports circuit on earth that can boast the leagues growth in such a short amount of time. You have to give them credit for that.
ADL appears determined to take a blow torch to his side. I can't imagine Carlito sticking around for that much longer. We have far too many "clown" owners in Serie A: https://www.football-italia.net/146321/mertens-lead-napoli-exodus
LOL at ADL. 2 more games or he sacks Carlo? Carlo be saying: Please don't throw me into that Briar Patch, Br'er ADL..." https://www.football-italia.net/146329/two-more-games-ancelotti
Riverside, CA https://www.soctakes.com/2018/09/27/as-roma-usl-cali/ and https://www.soctakes.com/2019/09/10/usl-league-one-adds-4-clubs/ Same source, but I know that I saw it somewhere else, too.
From a US Soccer standpoint, I’d think that would be a good thing for a Serie A club to field a USL side. From an Italian clubs point of view, not sure what benefit it will have.
Development of superior athletes in another 10-20 years. I'm not sure that the USMNT will ever get their crap together enough to be a consistently elite team. However, I believe in the next 10-20 years, there will be a good handful (10-15 names) of elite players across europe. When I say elite, I mean starting for clubs in the top 4 of the Serie A, EPL, La Liga, Bundesliga, and Ligue Un.
I remember 2010 was supposed to be the pinnacle of US Soccer to be in line to win the WC. A decade has passed and they've digressed. Not qualifying for the WC was a sort of setback. Italy didn't qualify either but they have more of a core team to core from. The US on the other hand, doesn't. They may win Concacaf though. I'm thinking they are working with Cristiano Scapolo who used to play for Atlanta , Roma, Bologna , Napoli and other minor league teams. He has been in LA for many years working with the youth academy.
