Pretty sure that would be the firebombing of Dresden.

That was my guess, but the picture didn't tell me.

There used to be a local band whose name was Sorry About Dresden.

Coulda fooled me-- I thought it was Rotterdam.

    Or maybe the Warsaw Ghetto.

Or even Stalingrad, around the tractor factory.

Probably the wrong day for a 'Valley of the Clueless' joke.

Yes, the Dresden firebombing remains a black stain on the allied war effort.

Well, White/Blue is German, so that kind of gave it away.

Now, if you are telling me that the Warsaw Ghetto ever looked like that, well, then I would say that I have learned something.

1898 -- The USS Maine Explodes

One of America's first battleships, the Maine explodes and the anger and resentment about Spain's heavy-handed involvement in the American hemisphere whips the country into a rather pointless war. The belief of the day: the Spanish had laid a mine. In 1976, a panel in investigators determined that the explosion onboard the Maine was probably related to an on-board fire amongst the ammunition stocks....

The cynic in me is thinking that Team Trump is hoping, hoping, hoping that some US naval vessel somewhere suffers a similar fate.

They had just taken on a load of dirty coal. If they had loaded "clean coal" instead it never would have happened.

It may not even have been the bunker fire-- coal dust explosions occurred in non-fire conditions on occasion. Heat and static electricity...

The real culprit was the design that put the bunkers so close to the ready magazines and handling rooms, so that once there was one boom, there were two or maybe three. She also had a record as a sloppy ship, particularly in the ready magazines.

The first divers on the wreck found the hull plates punched in, and so assumed the explosion had been external; but we now know that the water rushing back in after the gases finish expanding will kind of fold them back in anyway.

C'mon, you were only three. And your memory's not what it used to be.

    Not to mention your eyes.

And besides, nobody saw you-- you can't prove a thing.

But did I mention that tiger fuzz was found in the hold?

Youthful idealism at its bravest, most admirable, and most foolhardy. But I think you've jumped the gun by 4 days.

Don't you get the feeling that this is going to happen here. Won't be the death penalty but.....

The "Resist" (White Rosé) movement is going to piss off trump sooner than later.
