When Woodward fired Jose, his plan going forward after appointing OGS as interim was to: 1) Hire a full-time manager AT THE END OF THE SEASON. 2) Hire a DoF to oversee transfer. He pulled the trigger early and at the worse time possible in hiring OGS as the manager and derailed the season. And obviously, we still have no DoF. Essentially, he single-handedly ripped up a very reasonable post-Jose plan. This is gonna be a messing barring some sort of miracle.
Rio expresses interest in DoF/Sporting Director position https://www.telegraph.co.uk/footbal...ed-need-lock-ideology-match-citys-liverpools/ Talk that the position still plans on being filled by the start of the season, but according to Rio, eventhough he's had talks about the position, he still doesn't know the exact parameters of what the job entails...
The latest on the DoF search, according to Skysports. https://www.skysports.com/football/...ical-director-but-transfer-policy-wont-change
Such a joke. Absolutely no reason one wasn't put in place before the summer. I guess the bigger joke is that Woody still has papers convinced he's going to hand over any power to someone else. Good one.
What exactly is the point of having this thread? If it's a occasional breadcrumbs that Woody gives the papers to keep the fans hopeful that can also be discussed some other thread.
Who is Matt Judge, Woodward's right hand man and United's chief negotiator. https://www.manchestereveningnews.c...ootball-news/man-utd-matt-judge-wiki-16442046 Another money man and obviously the guy who likes to take it real slow when it comes to negotiations and drag things out, presumably in pursuit of the best deal he can get (which gets him an attaboy from Woodward and a nice bonus at the end of the year)...
SAF urges United to appoint Steve Walsh with the structural changes at the club. https://www.skysports.com/football/...ed-to-appoint-steve-walsh-in-consultancy-role Would be nice if they actually did something. Our way of doing things and the decisions being made are starting to give me major agita. We're starting to look like rank amateurs and it's unacceptable for a club of our size, reputation and means...
A worse omen that Fergie is losing his influence at the club if his recommendations are being ignored.
When did SAF really have any influence after his retirement? He stayed away for the most part: his most notorious involvement are to have named Moyes as his successor and he obviously had a part in bringing Ole and Phelan back to the club recently. Not like both decisions have been unquestioned successes so far... That being said, his recommendation of Walsh considering who has been rumored for the job would not be a bad one as our first DoF. It'd behoove Woodward to listen because as young as this summer is. it's not looking too good at all so far. Quite the opposite actually. And Walsh is a person with experience and a proven pedigree: wouldn't be the worst choice in the least.
Nothing will happen in any capacity until the Glazers get involved and force Woody to do something...which they won't. So might as well close this bitch.
A little more info on the report above. Apparent that Woodward is not likely to go for it. Interesting developments regarding the structure of recruitment at @ManUtd, where Sir Alex Ferguson has recommended Steve Walsh to the club.It is understood chief executive Ed Woodward doesn't like the idea. No shit he doesn't like the idea. He doesn't like the idea of a DOF in general despite whatever bullshit he feeds the media. I wish SAF would actually come out and criticize Woodward. Hes one of the few voices with enough impact that people in power would actually take notice.

That last line says it all. We are a cheap kids ride at a grocery store. We are a complete mess right now.
