Yeah. I tried it last night. It's more of a formal sit-down place, not ideal for takeout. The food I ordered was OK but very carb-heavy.

I ordered a Adjaruli Khachapuri and the mushroom & cheese Khinkali to go. Turns out that khachapuri takes 20-30 minutes to cook. And then I was stuck in 30-minute traffic to get out of Palo Alto. The smell of the khachapuri was driving me crazy, cuz i was hungry and it smelled like warm donuts.

It was still warm when I got home though. Kinda like eating a deep dish pizza where the pizza crust is stuffed with cheese, there's no tomato, and a cooked egg is served on top. You break the egg and swirl chucks of the dough in it. The dough is like a heavy challah bread, it's not tough and chewy like pizza. It was ok but definitely elevated my blood sugar the next morning.

The Khinkali is a big dumpling where the dough is the consistency of a thick noodle.

Well, at least I can say I've eaten khachapuri! I didn't tell them I was there because of Vako...

We should start a Quakes dinner club where we go eat at restaurants that represent the countries of the players: Georgia, Albania, Panama, Sweden, etc. We could bring along a bighead of the related player and take group selfies.

I’d rather head to La Villa or Antipasto’s for real meatballs!

We need an Italian player and that can be on the Quakes Dining Club agenda. :)

I'm not sure Panama has much of a cuisine but we found a nice vegetarian restaurant in the old city.

I think a fiend of mine asked Fioranelli about that but didn't seem to get much of an answer. Sadly there are no more Italian players. Roma had two Italian players starting against Liverpool. Probably why they lost 5-2...

Where's Tony Donatelli when you need him? One of Doyle's infamous signings. Didn't make it out of preseason camp.

Yea Georgian foods are mostly oriented on these "supra" gatherings we have, type of a small feast on a holiday, a bit like Thanksgiving dinner for Americans. It's not adapted to the new fast food/takeout culture unfortunately. It takes some time and is meant to be eaten right away.

If you eat adjaruli every day you'll burst open by the end of the week :D

They got there so they must be doing something right. Roma not exactly known for keeping their goal dry historically.

FWIW, I am strongly pro pasta, so I wouldn't eat there.

Funny how all roads lead to Rome in a Valeri Qazaishvili thread........

Makes one wonder what Georgian cuisine is like?

    Khachapuri anyone?

Vako is listed just below Ibra in salary. I thought Zlatan was making a lot more with the Gals. They probably will have him posing in his underwear to make pad his salary.....

Zlatan agreed to a pay cut to play in LA.

It's not even a paycut, as he had no salary from LA to start with.

I know Ibra was offered a lot more from a Chinese team. He must be making up for it through sponsorships and public appearances like Beckham did.

Hey Zlatan may be the second best thing the West has going for it this season.
Except for LAFC, seems like all the teams in the West are struggling.

Well, considering our own performances, it's good the West is struggling this year.

That’s interesting. Married at 18. Unhappy at his last team. Hangs by himself in the back of the locker room. Highest paid guy on the team, right? I can see how that might be a damper in the locker room. He can’t hang with the single guys his age, and he’s probably too young to hang with other dads on the team.

I really have to wonder why Jesse pursued Vako. Seems like a poor fit as a DP for a California team. In contrast, think of how Huckerby got totally into the California scene and was a leader on and off the field.
