My thought watching the final was that Spain learned something from their long drought ('64-'08) ... how to win when it counts.
I do think he is the first 100% black player to play for Italy, but i'm pretty sure there have been other players of African descent to play for Italy Still, must have been tough road for Balotelli
^^^ Lol and Ronaldinho choppin it up with the Barca players like nothing but Pirlo was a fuckin boss this Euro.
Damn I can imagine with all the sht he goes through, but damn he is one hell of a player and the best part is that he's only 21. Just imgaine this dude when he hits prime.
matteo ferrari as well. and if we're talking born in africa, gentile was born in libya. i remember this came up in the trivia thread when franny asked which black player (or was it african?) had the most appearances in serie a
like I said in another thread....kinda hard for me to be all up on spains nuts like other people when Barca does the same thing every week....and Barca has takin it to another level.
Before this thread runs out of gas; When looking back I sure did get a kick out of Nachito's bold statements & predictions, and I am pretty sure most of the forum did too. I can't wait for another ridiculously funny & famous statement like "Spain has zero firepower" on the next tourney.
This is ridiculous. Just because they beat Italy 4-0, doesn't mean they had firepower. Italy gave up before the match started when their D had an immense amount of open spaces for Spain. I'll attribute this to their old age, since I want to be nice. Had Spain faced a side that had defenders like Portugal, we would have seen a 0-0 game because they have 0 fire power.
Someone didn't watch any of the games besides the final. You're crazy if you think they were impressive throughtout the tournament.
? This was discussed between ELL & I before the Portugal game; somewhere along the lines on his specifics of 'zero' firepower was narrowed down to as forwards that aren't suited for the job & saying if they weren't going to play certain forwards of what he thought they should play to be able to score, then they weren't going to win against whomever the teams he mentioned. Specifically and/ or generally I consider it completely wrong & I disagreed to look at the game that way as I said before considering there's 8/ 9 other players(sub. 2/ 1 F ) who are able to score given the scoring opportunity, having forwards who know a thing or two about scoring, & how they play the game to their advantage that opens up the possibility to score; And how in the world does my post refer to the final score of the Final where he made his statement before the QFs & it is was discussed after the QFs?
lol When did I ever say they were impressive? What else do you want to assume? Brotha, with that assumption, you’re off to a great start by the way.
