"Earthquakes part ways with general manager John Doyle" (CSNBayArea.com - Monday, 8/29/16) GO SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES!!! -G
Will they insert a new permanent GM sometime soon? Or will they instead promote Dom to GM? GO SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES!!! -G
You know, in a way I kind of feel bad for Doyle that he is 50 years old and out of a job. In another way, he always has his Mustangs job to fall back on. That an a new adventure with a different club!
And to think of how many different positions he's played with the San Jose Earthquakes over the years, from player to TV color analyst to assistant coach to general manager. GO SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES!!! -G
Yeah he had a pretty good run in 22 years. All star defender, TV Color man , Assistant Coach, GM and Mustang Man. I'm sure he saved and invested his money wisely.....
Looooooooong time coming, we will see if the fish rotted from the top now, but Dom needs to go to start totally fresh
"San Jose Earthquakes terminate general manager John Doyle" (Center Line Soccer - Monday, 8/29/16) (Kyle Terada-USA TODAY Sports) GO SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES!!! -G
Rumor had it that Perez with USSF did not like the quakes style or identity. Doyle took it personal and was an advocate for his removal from USSF. Everything is full circle now. Why not bring in someone fresh with attractive style of play ideas Sent from my SM-G9350 using Tapatalk
By "identity", does that mean their playing style identity? Also, is Hugo Perez a strong candidate to become the next GM? GO SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES!!! -G
This the biggest positive move in Quake history...cause for mass celebration. I'm going to get in my car and take a few laps downtown with my Quake banner flapping and my horn honking...I knew something big was going to happen after the Crew game.
I don't know him, but here's a nice article on Perez. Tommy Thompson get's called out. http://www.soccerwire.com/blog-post...-under-threat-at-the-u-17-world-cup-in-chile/
Honestly I have no idea what Tommy has to do with this. Perez didn't want him as a U17? He has the qualities that Perez says he wants - entertaining, tries stuff. I would have been happy if Perez coached Tommy because he would encourage him to go for it and not be afraid to make a mistake (according to Perez's own words). Or was it that Perez didn't want Tommy despite him being an apparent style match? Anyway, Tommy had a bad injury around this time anyway and I think that more than anything delayed his youth nats career.
Everything in this article is what the bay area is craving for. Add some flair. He was already with ES for the qualifiers. Worked with Ceren. The reason he has never been associated with Quakes was Doyle. You're talking about a completely different style from Doyle. Doyle is gone. Clean house top to bottom. Get that man in the first team or academies but just watch him work. In so Cal there were tons of coaches following his work with NT when he was at stub hub. Time for a change. Make it happen already. I'm tired of the recycled and in house mafia promotions that happen all the time Sent from my SM-G9350 using Tapatalk
