He played quite poorly in both Cup final matches I've watched him in. Though that is just two matches, and it did leave an impression that he had skills that didn't get a chance to shine on those days.

    Re: Wagner Love

During the last Copa America he was fighting with Luis Fabiano for a place on the team.
Luis got it and did not impress too much, even though he is better than Love.

Wagner scored a lot in Palmeiras and his name is always involved in transfer rumors. Here in Brazil we never get to watch CSKA games, so I don't know how he is doing.

Taddei in Brazil was a reserve at Palmeiras that went to the first team in the right time, when the team sold all best players and was doing fine at Libertadores. But he would never be considered a very good player(at least here in Brazil)
And Vágner Love, is too famous for (an only) good player, worst than Ricardo Oliveira,Fred or Luis Fabiano .He was also involved in transfer speculation with Corinthians,Palmeiras and Santos(a newspaper said he agreed terms with the team in August, but it wasn´t true). I saw him for the last time a long time ago against Sporting at Uefa Final, and the real star of CSKA seems to be Daniel Carvalho, tough he is also important for the team

    As usual...

a player that goes early to a team that´s not so traditional in Europe (it´s better to play in a small spanish team than a big in the Russian League) is completely "deleted" from the NT.(like Vagner, and possibly Celsinho who´s going to lokomotiv and has a brigh future i football)
So those players try to get some money and soon return to Brazil or another team in Italy or Spain. That´s what´s happening to Daniel, a very good player that´s possibly comin´back to Brazil. In my opinion he deserved a place in the reserve of Brazilian team in WC-06

    Re: Wagner Love

Not the senior team. I'm pretty sure he played for the U20 team. I want to see Carvalho get called up. He was CSKA's best player this past season.

In fact both him and Vagner Love had pretty decent seasons. They both scored around 15 goals or something. However, I think they were just eliminated from the UEFA Cup, so things cant be going too well.

As for Vagner, it seems like he will be sticking around with CSKA. Corinthians have given up hope on getting him. I think we could see Vagner leave them eventually. Not sure to England though. I dont think he's eligible for a work permit there.

And Taddei. I remember him from his days at Palmeiras. Solid player. hah. He's really good in Football Manager 2005. Roma are having an average season. Taddei is playing alright, but he's obviously no where near the quality necessary to play on the national team.

    Re: As usual...

Is Celsinho seriously going to Lokomotiv??? I mean, I understand Portuguesa selling him because they are still stuck in Serie B, but I'm sure Corinthians or something could pay just as much and at least keep him in Brazil as opposed to letting him freeze his butt off in Russia.

Seriously, there are so many South American players stuck in Eastern Europe and I've never heard from them again. There's like 5 Brazilians on Shakthar (Matuzalem, Elano come to mind). I think Diogo Rincon is on Dynamo Kiev. Cavenaghi for Argentina is another guy whom I've never heard from again...

    Re: Wagner Love

Here are a few: I'm forgetting a few defenders but these are the ones who come to mind. There are also a ton of attacking mids and forwards out there.

ROGERIO CENI -GK - Sao Paulo. No one calls him up anymore.
DEDE - DL - Dortmund. He's never been able to translate his success at Dortmund to Brazil, but he's still a solid wing back.
Caçapa - DC - Lyon. He's Lyon's captain and they're on their quest for a 5th successive championship (been there since 2001). Blows my mind that this guy hasnt been called up yet.
ALEX - DC - PSV. He's a forgotten man since he left Santos. Not as forgotten as some of his other Santos team-mates. It doesnt help that he plays in Holland, but he has been getting some attention from Parreira lately. Not enough though.
RAFINHA - DR - Schalke - This one isnt a reject exactly. It's more that I want Parreira to call him up, even if he is 19...he could learn a lot. He was probably Brazil's best player at the U20 cup earlier this year and now he's Schalke's starting right back at the age of 19.
MARCOS ASSUNCAO - DM - Betis: Many people know about this guy. He's probably one of the best DMs in Spain...and a free-kick specialist.
MAGRAO - DM - Yokohama Marinos: From my Palmeiras. He was just getting called up but then he left for Japan. The rest is history. He was one of the best DMs in Brazil while he was play there.
LINCOLN - AM - Schalke: He's probably the second-best Brazilian playing in the Bundesliga.
MARCELINHO PARAIBA - AM - Hertha Berlin: He's worshipped by Hertha fans. Known as Magic Marcelinho. Known for his flashiness and constantly-changing hair color. Was a runner up to Ballack for Bundesliga Player of the Year this past sesaon.
EWERTHON - F - Zaragoza - He made his name in Europe for Borussia Dortmund but he was forced out over the summer because of their massive debts. Dede should be leaving too.
DANIEL CARVALHO - F/AM - CSKA Moscow: He's CSKA's best player and most Brazilians havent forgotten about him. Parreira and Zagallo have though.

Here are a few more that come to mind (Vagner Love was the topic of the thread so I didnt include him)...maybe bench guys.

AILTON - F - Beskitas - Obvious. He probably should be a starter for my team. I guess it would be either him or Ewerthon. He scored goals wherever he played...for Bremen and then Schalke. And now he's in Turkey where he was forced out as well. He's in his 30s and that was the reason why. It's rumored that he wants to return to Germany.
ELANO - AM - Shakhtar - The former Santos star, is another guy who's been forgotten. But that's what happens when you go to the Ukraine. No doubt in my mind that the Santos team from a few years back will go down as one of the best in Brazil's history. So many quality guys. Alex (defender), Diego, Robinho, Elano, Ricardo Oliveira...
DIOGO RINCON - F - Dinamo Kiev - Another Brazilian playing in the Ukraine. He was a solid player for Internacional but like Elano, why would you go to Ukraine?
DUDU CEARENSE - DM - CSKA - Another Brazilian playing for CSKA. This guy just doesnt get it. He leaves Bahia and goes to three unknown teams! What is he thinking! First, it's Japan for Kashima. Then he goes to an average French team, Rennes, and now it's CSKA. Come on. No, Jo, the Corinthians star, is going to join him in Russia. So that makes 4 vanished Brazilians.
ZE MARIA - DR - Inter Milan - I'm not sure if he retired from the national team, but he was always a solid player, even though he is already up there in age.

Good list, I´d include these players:

    SERGINHO (A.C. Milan)
    AMOROSO (São Paulo)
    BORDON (Shalke 04)

And a small correction: Dudu Cearense is playing for Fenerbahce now.

Really, Dudu Cearense went to Fenerbahce? I can't find this anywhere in the news. But whatever. If it's true, then man, first Kashima Reysol in Japan, then Rennes, then CSKA, and now Fenerbahce. He must really be trying to not get noticed by Parreira.

Bordon is a solid guy, although he didnt really impress me in the Copa America last year.

Wouldnt mind seeing Serginho get a call-up.

How could I forget Amoroso? hah. He did just score 2 goals against the Saudi Arabian team...

I also forgot Renato. That was an obvious one, especially since he might get called up.

I think they agreed terms in Russia(Celsinho and Lokomotiv)

Atlético-Paranaense sold like 4 players in only 1 month to Shakthar Donetsk and Dinamo Kiev. Some of them good young players like Jadson and Ivan.Another good player that was forgot by Parreira is Rodrigo,ex-Sao Paulo now at Dinamo, a very good defender that´s probably coming back to Brazil in 2006 maybe he could have a chance in the NT ´cause the defense of Brazil is not yet ready for the World Cup, tought Parreira never changes his players in the national team.
About Celsinho, they paid 7 million dollars, Corinthians or any brazilian team with some cash like São Paulo or Santos would even consider such offer for him.

Re: I think they agreed terms in Russia(Celsinho and Lokomotiv)

i seriously cant believe lokomotiv got celsinho. 7 million dollars isnt bad for a 17 year old...especially one who plays in Serie B. corinthians should have tried to get him as a replacement for Jo. Nilmar is only going to be at Corinthians for another year...then he goes back to Lyon. And if MSI wants to get some of their investment money back, they will sell Tevez soon.

It's very strange how Lokomotiv are trying to get Celsinho. Since he isnt 18 yet, they are making his mother like his agent and team employee or something like that so they can get around the FIFA regulations preventing minors from going abroad. very weird.

Yeah, it looks like you were correct, as my memory failed. Dudu Cearense is actually a CSKA player. I thought I saw him playing in the Fenerbahce x Milan CL game.

Serginho said he didn´t want to get called up anymore.

    Why Dunga loves Vanger LOOOOOOVE

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K4smR2WoUV0&mode=related&search=

Once Dunga saw Vanger Love score that goal, he fell in love with Vanger Love. Words can't describe how good that goal was, Vanger Love is on his way 2 being better then Ronaldo cuz not even Ronaldo can score a goal like that. 2 thumbs up to Dunga for keeping Vanger Love as a starter, more wave of goals will come from Vanger Love.

GREAT! he scores a relatively easy tap in, and all of a sudden he's better than Ronaldo? don't make me laugh, he's good but that goal is not anything special. And this is coming from someone who likes Vagner Love.

The only way for WLove to be better than Ronaldo is if he gets very fat and is escalated to play in the next World Cup final game...
