Agreed, but the US was getting nervous for a bit there since they saw that Spain wasn't backing down even after that penalty call. US was doing all they could to clear that ball away. But you right though, gotta pander to that audience.
Something tells me they won’t. BTW, I never cheer for Spain in anything but they played a great game. Vicky Losado going out earlier took the momentum out of their attack.
Spain will be challenging for the title soon. I'm excited for them. Spain will start investing heavily in women's soccer.
They played better than I thought they would, credit for putting up a fight. It took 2 bs penalties to beat them. With a better attack they could've won this game.
Why aren't more people asking what happened on the tackle in the box #ESP wasn't awarded a penalty on in the 97th minute? That looked like a penalty at full speed. More a penalty than the 2nd one given the #USWMNT. #ESPUSA— The Soccer Heretic 🇺🇦🌻 (@SoccerHeretic) June 24, 2019 Can’t believe y’all got my ass feeling bad for Spain.
Nadettes will get their ass whoop if they play like this against France. I’m guessing they thought this match was going to be more of a cake walk after Sweden. Spain didn’t let let down and they should be happy that they went out with a solid performance. They just need someone with a finishing touch.

Lindahl has always been one of the best keepers in the game. She single handily ended the nadettes Olympics in 2016. She deserved sainthood for that alone.
@Romario'sgurl which is more likely to happen, Canada getting over the hump or another european up and comer team like Spain emerging as a legit competitor for the WC/Olympics?
Probably the latter. I have nothing against Canada but they haven’t done enough with the resources to solidify themselves as contenders. I thought sure Canada were on the way up after taking Bronze in Brazil 3 years ago. But here we are. I really like the Netherlands chances in this WWC.
I can see the Netherlands make a splash in Tokyo next year. That’s if they qualify (Top 3 euro teams in this WC qualify for the olympics). Spain would’ve definitely made a splash but they got beat by dumb penalties today. Canada is lackluster in attack. They had most of the possession and only one shot on target today. Canadian federation seems to think Sinclair is still their best player on attack but she’s running on fumes. I thought Beckie would have a breakout WC but she was pretty meh this whole tournament. I still think Buchanan is their best player.
Canada were too concerned about Sinclair breaking Wambach’s scoring record. Truth be told, Canada should have left her back in 2015. The signs were on the wall then. I thought Beckie and Ashley Lawrence were extremely underwhelming. I don’t know, the whole team seemed uninterested.
While watching the France vs Brazil yesterday I thought neither one has a chance against the US.... After today's game....France has a pretty good shot.
The nadettes tend to look different against real competition, huh? I think it was clear that Sweden was playing for 2nd place, hence the lackluster display in the final group match. France beat the US several months ago at one of their(nadette) tournaments. 4 nations I think. The ability and talent are there. Whether the team can hold their nerves on the big stage at home is the big question.
