@zlebmada that wasn't the last pick in the draft. It goes to the 23rd rd.

@Matthew Hartman I think you're still behind 1 pick, and your spot is coming up again soon.

    We are stopping at 18.

Now, personally I wouldn’t mind going to 23. But I will admit as slow as things have gone the past few rounds, I have lost some interest.

I think we all have very different opinions of what “solid and proven professional players” are. Voting is going to be interesting

Is somebody going to go back and look at how long each pick took, and then score every participant on their promptness? I hope so. That would be fun. Fun + fun = more fun! Must take into account the time of day the participant went on the clock, the weather in their zip code at time of selection, number of dependents, medical records for each participant and dependents, taxable salary in 2018, average commute time in their MSA, and Dept of Labor NAICS code for their occupation.

We do but there were a significant amount of reaches. Some of the players taken are undoubtably talented but many will never reach their full talent and if they aren’t regularly in a pro setting their value is zero. It’s hopes and dreams. I get it cause the situation were currently in but it was over done.

I picked only young players at the end. I don't follow MLS closely enough to even know who some of the people picked after the 11th round were. It's mainly due to my lack of knowledge surrounding the deepest parts of the pool.

What you're not clearly enough understanding here, @ShaftBrewer, is your inferiority in relation to participants such as @truefan420. This is what he/she is trying to get across. You must be made to understand. Show up in the principal's office in 15 minutes for another stern talking-to and a vigorous spanking.

I’m not talking about that. That’s usually when young players would go in the past. Boom bust in the hopes that they breakout. But there’s several players that went in early rounds that are prospects firsts and not regulars yet. Usually it would be AutoPenalti in years past with the mostly youth filled side. Now it’s most teams. I get it but there were several reaches.

Solid vets are boring to me for the purpose of filling out a roster on an online draft.

I'd rather pick Konrad de la Fuente and hope he pans out a few years from now than stick someone like Ethan Finlay at RW.

I thought I read 23 (looking back at the rules I guess it was always 18), but must have assumed that based on previous times. It's probably for the better because I don't think some teams would have been completed otherwise, which would have skewed the competition as it does in fantasy sports which this is a pseudo version of. But may have played things a little different toward the end if I had known that. Still should be covered positionally.

So get me up to speed. Does Matthew Hartman just need to make his last pick and the draft is finished?

I'm cool with a tentative evaluation, but I think ideally a more telling one would be a re-evaluation after the Gold Cup. However, the attention span isn't always real long after the initial interest, understandably, but paradoxically is part of the reason for the urging.

This might be my lineup. Notable weaknesses are at CF, LB, and then at the 6, where I'm playing Kyle Scott in the same JoGo-like role he had in his lone appearance for Chelsea. For better or for worse, every player is under 25 except the starting keeper.

Is King Zyen a left back now? Did I miss something?

No, but it's a fun, throw-caution-to-the-wind idea to play him there and try to make use of his top-end-of-the-pool speed and athleticism when my starting left back is so vanilla, after I had missed out on most of the better options. Everton's academy a number of years ago had a similar idea with a speedy, athletic left winger named Robinson. Besides picking young prospects, the other fun part of this is possibly playing someone out of position.

Love how our team came out.

Our starting line up can boss possession against most teams they’ll face in the draft. While also being set up to defend their lines and counter when needed.

Nick Besler can provide cover at DM or CB (might even snag the starting role over Hagglund) and Salinas can provide cover at either wingback spot. Two strikers that can come off the bench and give us different looks (injury history is a concern).

Only American on Warshaw's 5 MLS Players Poised to Make the Big Leap in 2019:

    Miles Robinson

In the first few games of preseason, Miles Robinson has been with the Five Stripes’ starting group. He’s played in the middle of a three-man backline, flanked by Leandro Gonzalez Pirez to his left and Michael Parkhurst to the right.

He’ll have to fend off challenges from new signing Florentin Pogba and perhaps eventually Jeff Larentowicz, depending on Frank de Boer’s plans for Darlington Nagbe in the middle. But Robinson is getting a serious chance to step in to the XI, and looks like he’ll have an enhanced role to play in 2019 regardless.

For my team personally his emergence would allow Cameron to move up to his preferred CDM spot where he's been impactful in England both in the Championship this year and previously in the Premier League.

    My Lineup:

    http://lineupbuilder.com/?sk=hy8j3

I'm playing a press, with plenty of athletes who can win the ball, play with their feet, break quickly, and get in behind. Adams looks like the best player in the pool now, and can help me control games thru his ball-winning and quick passing. That's a strong spine. Should be hard to score on, decent at holding the ball, and there's no creative star or killer goalscorer, but a front four that can generate a ton of chances and is capable scoring from that as well as a collective.

Was annoyed you took Miles. Was planning on drafting him. Think he might have a breakout year too. Doubt he breaks into the national team but he’s got talent. He moves well for someone his size. Hopefully he has a good career ahead of him.

Duane Holmes shining again for Derby County. Arguably among the best players in the Championship right now, and he strongly wants to be called up to the USMNT and probably will be. He and Lima were my two best value picks, but I also had a number of mid-round picks that in hindsight were fairly poor reaches.

They were good value picks. I was surprised Holmes fell as far as he did. I would have taken him much earlier than where he was drafted if I was playing a formation that required a wide attacking player other than a wingback. Lima went about where I expected. We have a lot of depth at RB meaning it’s less of a priority to target early. But his camp performances definitely bumped his profile up as I sure most people (even the die hardiest MLS fans) aren’t watching the earthquakes much.

The athleticism of our front 3 will be very difficult to handle.

January was an easy month for me...especially because I hurt my back doing deadlifts and have been out of commission for a few weeks. but I’ll admit that February will be pretty tough for me with work. I’ll still participate if we can get it all organized.

Sorry not gonna lie I can’t help much as far as organizing. I’ll tune in and still post/vote when I get a spare moment or two. However, between work, studying for my securities licenses and trying to track the housing market in literally the worst state to buy a house in I’m fairly spent on time. This game is a stress reliever not trying to add to the list.

Anyone willing to bite the bullet and organize the voting and deadlines to submit teams starting 11/tactics. We can then vote 1 to 12. Then do seeding and match ups.
