"The Earthquakes’ betting odds for MLS season are how long?!!" (San Jose Mercury News - Wednesday, 1/9/19) Signing coach Matias Almeyda (center) was the Earthquakes’ biggest offseason move. (Dylan Boucher/Bay Area News Group) GO SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES!!! -G
I’ll tell you what. With the new playoff change of single elimination and the fact that so many teams qualify, it’s kind of tempting to wager on the Quakes for this year. After the Quakes awful 2000 season, what were the odds that San Jose would be 2001 champs with a new coach?
I hear you. It will be wide open with single elimination. I think we'll play good ball with Almeyda. Still need a solid keep, quality CB with speed, a stud 8 with attacking ability...and to drop Mag and Vako....and Godoy to make some real noise. I keep waiting for Almeyda's trusted veteran playmaker to come through the door.
It looks like Eriksson is likely gone, I don't see Vako going unless he voluntarily leaves, which isn't likely unless someone else wants him, and I think Godoy figures into Almeyda's plans.
buh bye Irksome. I'm sorry my name for you never caught on, but won't miss your (mostly) weak efforts to draw fouls
https://www.bigdsoccer.com/2019/1/17/18186548/comparing-2019-season-ticket-prices-across-mls Ticket prices across MLS. Look what they have to say about ours. Lol. The Absolute Worst: San Jose Earthquakes For the second year running, San Jose’s pricing structure is an absolute nightmare to look at it and navigate. The closely shaded colors and the minuscule graphic of where said seat would be is just horrifying. San Jose should be relegated to the NASL for this.
Hypocrisy and Fake News. The article is harder to navigate than the Quakes stadium pricing structure, and does not stick to its stated premise: The prices are only reflective if you sat in the Supporter’s Section behind the goal. Every team/stadium has their own pricing structure, which makes it almost impossible to compare prices in an apples-to-apples sense. The one constant is the Supporter’s Section, hence that’s the only data point being used here. With that premise, it's easy to see that the Quakes pricing is nominally on par with Dallas' at about $400 per supporters ticket. Except that is not what the pricing is. The no frills supporters electronic pass is about $250, as I recall, among the best deals in the league. My Ultras season pass -- which I insist be converted to card stock tickets (and am willing to pay for the privilege) -- is only $360.
Let me add that it simply does not matter what the Quakes seating chart looks like. If I'm interested in tickets I call or text my rep and we discuss what I'm looking for. That's the difference between Dallas and a real Club.
