Substantive news is the responsibility of the media. Tom Fox will be available to answer questions tomorrow evening. If his answers go unreported, that is not his fault.
I'm talking about the team's website and blog. What the media at large reports or doesn't report is the media's concern, but when a team is obviously in a tailspin I would expect the official medium of the team to address the turd in the punchbowl. Ignoring it doesn't make it go away.
of course if the Quakes did anything that was actually, you know, newsworthy (i.e. signed a player that fired up the entire Bay Area soccer community, won two games in a row, etc.), that would be helpful too.
The games are shown live on TV. The team's twitter account posts game results. What other news are you interested in? Tommy's ebola prognosis?
anyone: "so Tom, how about if you introduce yourself to the fans and enlighten us with your master plan for restoring this club to respectability and relevance." Tom: "so glad you could both be here today, the buzz around this team is growing, you can really feel it. anybody see that win over Dallas? we are in growth phase, rebuilding years, doing more with less, next year we hope to be among the teams in the hunt for a payoff berth, progress not perfection, hang in there, renew your season tix, have a drink on me. oh and we're hoping to get Juventus to come and play here next season in an exhibition game at Levi's. hope to see you all at Avaya stadium for the movie night premier of Happy Feet! Go Quakes, stay tuned, more exciting news to follow! great to finally meet you all so you can put a face with my name, finally, lol."
Is it possible to listen to Ted Ramey's Soccer Hour on demand? Or can it only be streamed live? I checked the KNBR podcasts and didn't see his name listed at all in the pod episodes. I want to listen tomorrow night Wed Aug-15 @ 7:00 PM when he has author Ken Bensinger talk about his book "Red Card" on FIFA corruption. But i have a conflict so I can't listen live.
"NEWS: Earthquakes to donate proceeds from upcoming 50/50 raffles to aid victims of Carr Fire" (SJEarthquakes.com - Friday, 8/24/18) GO SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES!!! -G
Surprisingly, SFGate has one of the better early articles about Stahre's firing: https://blog.sfgate.com/soccer/2018...sj-earthquakes-fire-head-coach-mikael-stahre/
Best MLS mascot of all-time!! Just confirming what we already knew @QMascot is the greatest of them all! 👑See the 4 others who made the list: https://t.co/aWtQTktQnD#WeAreSanJose pic.twitter.com/C3Qs26WPi7— San Jose Earthquakes (@SJEarthquakes) September 21, 2018
Yeah I saw this earlier at mlssoccer.com. My only question is how you beat Goodsport to the punch in posting this?
Robert Jonas wrote a pretty insightful article on Q two years ago at CenterLine Soccer (with a little help from me from the comments section there ). GO SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES!!! -G
Reference to, and quote from, San Jose Ultras deep into the article. https://www.theguardian.com/football/2018/sep/25/mls-ultras-fans-supporters-groups
https://www.mercurynews.com/2018/09/17/struggling-san-jose-earthquakes-fire-head-coach/ "The lack of passion in the stands and on the field Saturday proved to be the final straw for Stahre’s tenure. After making the playoffs for the first time in five seasons last year, the Earthquakes took a major step back this year. Now Ralston finishes up as the team’s fourth coach in two seasons while Fioranelli goes in search of a fifth."
Yeah, Andorra may be less than a tenth the size of San Jose, but aren't Andorrans ethnically Catalan? They ought to be superior soccer players.
Best of luck to the @warriors this season! ⚽️🏀#DubNation | #BayAreaUnite pic.twitter.com/t1DhK3kNj1— San Jose Earthquakes (@SJEarthquakes) October 17, 2018 GO SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES!!! -G
