I was wondering why we didn't have a thread like this!

The league table as of today, Feb. 26. Everything to play for for six clubs/

(games played, games won, draw, lost, total number of points, goals scored, goals conceded)
    1 PSV 23 14 6 3 48 60 - 28
    2 AZ 23 14 4 5 46 48 - 24
    3 FC Twente 22 13 6 3 45 59 - 23
    4 SC Heerenveen 23 12 8 3 44 52 - 34
    5 Ajax 23 12 7 4 43 59 - 32
    6 Feyenoord 23 12 5 6 41 47 - 31

I'm not entirely subjective of course but I think it'll be between PSV, Ajax and Twente. PSV and Twente because of their points lead, Ajax because they have the easiest remaining programme.

I also think Twente will win it if we manage to be top of the league four games before the end. There I've said it. I just think McClaren is the best mental coach of the lot.

Didn't occur to me. This is the greatest football league in the world!!! Every year surprises and down to the final match day.

Maybe not the greatest but in any case the tightest, most exciting and most competitive league. Never a dull moment in the eredivisie.... And I'm delighted about having McClaren to guide Twente through it all - our very own Mental Strength Guru!

This time of year the refs start making me crazy again

There was an obvious push by PSV on the last PSV goal--no call

Heerenveen scores a goal with Dost 10 feet offside--stands in front of Esteban jumps over the shot and no call

Both plays are crucial to the final score

I think PSV will win it but nothing is certain yet--huge game next week for both PSV and Twente--a tie would be great

Nothing would be more interesting to me than to see Heerenveen win their first ever title. Frank doesn't deserve to win the title the way he has managed Ajax this season so I don't want him to be rewarded for it :(

I would actually quite like Heerenveen to win it too. But I don't think it'll happen.

They have the toughest schedule going forward - have to play all the top teams still (save AZ).

I'll have to pass for having Heerenveen represent us in the CL.

With their current team I wouldn't mind. Financially though they're the most limited in the top six. They're extremely likely to lose players (Dost, Narsingh) this summer.

What's the difference? Or am I being cynical again?

On the flipside of this...My Superboeren and Excelsior looking like they will drop unless they can string some decent performances together.

Zwolle looks pretty much guaranteed to gain promotion currently topping the 2nd division table by 11 points.

Heerenveen are playing open exciting footy--yesterday's game was probably the most entertaining of the year from an AZ fan--a win would have been better but the 2nd half had everything

They are very tough at home and play with lots of confidence--they will be a factor as they play all the top teams.

You'll be interested to know that Zwolle is a bastion of Ajax lovers. They even have a Cruyff stand over there.

Excelsior is too small for the eredivisie. I've no problem with them getting relegated. De Graafschap though, now that would be a real shame...

Here we go again--still 6 teams in the picture

One week ago it looked like Twente was the mover---ready to take top spot

Now AZ is in control again

Ajax definitely in the mix and has it easier with no Europe

PSV has sprung a leak on defense--they have Feyenoord next week

Feyenord and Heerenveen must win their games against the top group because a draw does not help them--they need to gain
