Miami Beckham United is proud to share its vision for the new Lockhart Stadium Community Park and future home to Inter Miami’s professional training facilities. pic.twitter.com/93ELM2lBFg— Inter Miami CF (@InterMiamiCF) March 1, 2019 Welcome to Miami.....
Yes, but it sounds much better than, “Welcome to Orange County Florida.” Seriously, if they actually get this and the stadium across the finish line, then I’m gonna start getting excited about the possibilities in Miami.
There are also Orange Counties in Texas, Indiana, New York, North Carolina, Virginia, and Vermont. Just for completeness.
You can say that about a lot of counties in Indiana. I grew up east of Muncie but lived in various parts the state including Vincennes for a few years. My sister lives by Madison so I drove through Paoli several times.
Vincennes was my high school's biggest rival. I had to go to Paoli both for competition and then a decade later for work. If you think there is nothing there, go to Orleans. Yikes.
Sure. I might have been through Orleans. I know I've been to Mitchell because I've seen the Gus Grissom sign. I guess Mitchell is in Lawrence County. I only mentioned Paoli because you notice when you drive through and I knew that was in Orange County. I grew up on a farm where the closest towns were a few miles away and just had flashing lights. I know about actual small towns.
I was going to make fun of sun bathing in the landing path of an airplane, but then I realized I went to a park that people watching teakeoffs and landings from just last week.
Halftime interview with Don, he said 5 or 6 new stadiums. 1.Cincinnati 2.Columbus 3.Nashville 4.Miami 5.Austin 6.?????
Revs? Fire? Who else could be in line for new digs? Dallas seems highly unlikely due to the hall of fame addition unless the vision is to eventually use the current stadium for the USL team (like I said unlikely). It is also possible that Don was counting Minnesota because they haven't technically opened Allianz Field yet...
Minnesota, Cincy, Miami, Austin, & Columbus makes five. They'd like to get new stadiums for NYC, the Revs, and the Fire. Not to mention whoever becomes team 28. Hell that's a possible NINE stadiums, six for sure.
The only way Chicago moves into Soldier Field, is if the Bears buy the team. Bears/Chicago park district would make difficult on us, it would take averaging in the 40's to make money.
