The irony is that of course with a tie Sanga fans can wipe their purple arses. But Diego preferred to show us his bare chest than picking up the ball and try to use the last few minutes to win the game... And by the way, Iwashita is a good player, but he'd make a better linesman. He basically played with his arm up. Watch Diego's goal: Iwashita is looking in the opposite direction, but as the ball goes in **ping!!** up goes his arm!! Amazing performance. Two signs of how bad is Sanga (courtsey of S-Pulse) 1 - Not beating Sanga meant massive booing for the Shimizu players 2 - Against Sanga, Ono played the whole 90 minutes!!
You know, I have no doubts that Gamba is three times better than Sanga, but if you know your history, you know that Gamba rarely had it easy in Kyoto. I'd bet on two kinds of scores: 1-1 or 0-3/0-4.
Come on these guys never win, Diego scores the equalizer during the last minute, he has the right to be happy or relieved ...
Happy for what? That Sanga has surpassed Bellmare for the 17th place run? The only thing that should matter for Sanga is to win, not to tie games!! As he scored there were 8 games and seven minutes to make points, now there are only 8 games, let alone the fact he got a yellow card... As they are now, Sanga would need to win I'd say six games out of eight to stay up. It actually might not be enough...
Maybe he still wants to show Sanga fans in how 'bad' physical shape he's now. And scored after 7 games too.
Any late equaliser you're going to go nuts, but once the hard reality hits at full time that, yeah, you're still pretty awful, and yeah, you're definitely going down, I was surprised the way the Sanga fans were saluting their players at the end. Well, not all that surprised, given the culture of blind, bordering on moronic, faith which means you should clap players who, regardless of how rubbish they've been, deserve a round of applause for trying. It was the same with the side stands from our fans. A nice round of applause for a team who have been playing like horse shit and have blown the chance of a title, and now look like blowing the ACL too. Fortunately behind the goal are a little less forgiving and gave them hell.
Eh? The defeat at Nishikyogoku last season was the first time since 2000 that Gamba had failed to win in Kyoto!
I am pretty sure some victories (such as in 2008) weren't easy. After all, Gamba struggles against Sanga this year too... I personally don't mind, at this point I just hope to see a good game, hopefully well ref'd.
Don't get me wrong, they are most often closely contested matches but Gamba usually seems to just get the edge. I agree, it would be nice to see a match without any controversy.

Kyoto Sanga lost 1-2 a test match vs Ritsumeikan University (Ah! The irony!) Most of the top team played, the goal came from Yanagisawa. Somebody counted that counting the satellite and the test matches, Sanga this season has lost more than 30 games... Not sure, but believable.
I'd be pretty happy about that, if I were a Sanga supporter. Okada's a pretty good club manager and I reckon he'd storm Sanga through J2 and get them promoted really fast.
http://www.nikkansports.com/soccer/news/p-sc-tp0-20101102-697213.html The simple fact that they are looking for another manager is very good news. Voices until last week was that Akita, a second year coach, was keeping his job. If Akita wants to come to Kyoto, I'd rent a car, go and pick him up. My dream for Sanga, however, is still Finke.
It must be the second division experience factor... Until Sanga belongs to Kyocera and the club is ruled by guys with nice suits and zero soccer heart, it will be like this forever. I spoke for three hours with a guy who has worked for Sanga 15 years, and if I tell you the stories, you'll never believe them. It is hopeless, really... BTW, expect at least 12-15 players changing club (or -hopefully- retire). One of Sanga's "famous" guys has already signed with Cerezo.
I know this will come as a shock to most of you, but the scheduled "Sanga Thanksgiving Day" an event that brings together fans of every age and their beloved players, has been canceled. No real reason was given, just a humble request for "understanding."
The Kyoto Simbun, one of the sponsors of Kyoto Sanga FC, by the way, openly criticized the discharging of Yanagisawa.
