I think Pompeo is coming to the realization that even if trump isn’t convicted, he ain’t winning. And Trump ain’t pardoning anyone as he goes out the door...because there’s already enough that he dies in jail...so wtf does Pompeo have over him.
Pompeo was a mediocre congressman before getting bumped up to CIA director and then Secretary of State. I mean, not Matt Gaetz-level dumb, but not distinguished in any way during his fairly brief time in Congress, and then all of a sudden he's CIA director and then Secretary of State. He was probably at his "Peter Principle" level of incompetence while in Congress, but since was loyal to Trump, he got promoted even beyond that level. Well, I guess Trump only picks the best people.
One of the points that had to be made, that should be incredibly effective, that won’t be....is the obstruction of congress charge and how of we let trump ignore impeachment inquiries, we will never be able to stop future presidents from doing the same. this one made me laugh. As every senator in the room knows that, regardless of senate makeup, if a future Democratic president tries this during am impeachment inquiry, they will be convicted 100-0. it’s sad but true.
I caught most of it. I liked how after he melted down on the radio and his aid ended the interview, the same aid came back and said she could go back to Pompeo's office if she left her recorder outside. But they never went off the record, so Kelly reported his tirade, parts of which are in the tweet. One of Ari Shapiro's cousin works with my wife. He sounds a lot like Shapiro, since they basically grew up together. Edit: huh. They look a lot alike, too, esp for cousins.
I would like to think he is dumb but you can't be dumb and finish first in your class at West Point and get a Harvard Law Degree (maybe I am naive?). He is an extreme ideologue, for sure.

Turns out we may have also found out why Pompeo isn’t entering the race to replace Pat Roberts as one of Kansas’s Senators.. During his media blitz in Kansas he kept getting asked about Trump and kept going off on them.
Didn't know that about West Point. I guess the skill set required to be top of the class at West Point is not the same skill set needed to be a standout congressman. He does seem to have anger management issues.

Not entirely true, Congress could have waited for the courts to rule on this. Trump probably would have ignored the courts, but we should have still gone that way. Future presidents will try, but court fights would follow.
