Lol oh come on, you had to love luuevh eit! The intro is the best in the context of Freddy being there. One could just picture Freddy there in the first thirty seconds and then lmfao....
Like Gooch with Milan: tell them you play one year "for free" and that you'll live from collecting empty cans.
It is just sad that Adu has been saddled with 10 or so incompetent club managers and 3 incompetent national team managers. I'm sure that competent manager will show up soon.
Like Tim Tebow jock-riders, it's never about the player and his shortcomings being the reason that he hasn't had success, it's always somebody else's fault. Same with Adu and his horde of cronies.
totally different situation, seeing as tebow had remarkable success in college, and during his brief time in the NFL. If Freddy had led the Union deep into the playoffs like Tebow did with the Broncos, i doubt this thread would even exist haha
I've seen Freddy Adu on the field and even a DC United training session during their 2004 MLS Cup winning season. A team that featured Ernie Stewart and Josh Gross. That was amazingly 10 years ago. He was uber young then. But what people need to admit is.... soccer (like any competitive business) is cut throat to the max. Pro Soccer is not an easy game. It is insanely hard to be a professional year after year. Few make it to the big dance, even fewer stay in the dance.
Yes, and even fewer get so many chances to stay in the dance when they insist on stumbling around drunk, clopping painfully on the feet of their partners, and then running away when asked to practice hard at improving their dancing. Freddy is very special that way.
Maybe we do have players like that, but you haven't heard of them because they're playing 2nd tier soccer. The only thing overrated about Sam Bowie was the health of his feet. He was very talented, but like alot of big men (Bill Walton comes to mind) his career came up way short of what it could have been due to bad feet.
My understanding is that Leaf wasn't smart enough to play quarterback in the NFL. The game was too complicated for him. IMO, they're still similar. Freddy's decisions on the field are as poor as his decisions off the field.
Yes, but the idea that Bowie is mentioned in the same breath as Bill Walton is why he's over-rated. He's more comparable to someone like a Juwan Howard. Serviceable, but was not ever even likely to be an all-star.
^ I'm sorry but that's incorrect. Sam was VERY talented, to compare him to Juwan Howard is doing him a great disservice (no disrespect to JHow). Sam's case is a classic example of injuries cutting a bigman's career woefully short. That and he chose not to tell the medical staff while at UK that he was injured.
Yeah, @PremierUSA , I remember Sam from his college days. He was a slightly shorter version of Ralph Sampson, a big guy with terrific athleticism and perimeter skills.
Looks like Freddy is playing for Blackpool today in a closed door scrimmage against their youth squad. http://www.blackpoolgazette.co.uk/s...to-play-in-behind-closed-doors-game-1-6416700
Man, the photo in that link is nearly perfect for abundant photoshopping. Can someone just put a Barca hat on him and we can end the thread?
