That list is counting those he had contracts with. He has also had trials that did't result in a contract so the number of shirts he has put on is even more than 14

It'd be a great cautionary tale for what happens when "well meaning adults" push a highly talented youngster too far, far too soon.

That’s the type of yeoman’s work normally made possible only by a lil Cutty Sark blendid. Good man, and thorough.

 

I believe also he may have had a very brief cuppa with Rayo Vallecano. Although it may have been more training than trial. Short while before the 2011 Gold Cup comeback, if I remember.

Lights manage a scrappy 2-1 win playing 4231 and maintaining only 38% possession. Adu on the bench but not subbed in. At least he's headed in the right direction.

 

Starting to think that instead of trying to sell vacuum cleaners, Freddy Adu should have tried to market brooms.... that would have really swept the nation...

He couldn't get on the field for an expansion team in the second division (that now consists of 33 teams). His team has now played 3 games and he still has zero minutes.

 

Well, he had a beer belly. Those of us here watching him see improvement.

 

At least come with a worn-out age joke.

dude. i know he hasn't lived up to the soccer world's expectations, but chill with the hyperbole. we have no idea how much he has in the bank, but he must have enough money put up to be able play for peanuts in the usl. it's not like he's flipping burgers and selling dime bags to try to pay the light bill. he's still living the dream even if he's not on the stage we expected him to be on when he showed up 14 years ago.
