Technically only one of them is American and I think the one the was saying it wrong was the non-American (Ian Joy). Edit: Ian Joy was born in California, my bad that accent fooled me.
Tomorrow night I'll be going to this instead of watching the Fire... 1016444999867695104 is not a valid tweet id
Scheduling a game with one days's notice seems like a bad idea. Why would they schedule a game like this on the exact night and time as a Fire game (and the first Wednesday night game of the season)? Why not on Friday night? Seems like bad planning to me.
I think Borealis doesn't really have too many options when it comes to scheduling at Moosheart for home games. Throw in making in viable for the traveling team, scheduling around their own travel for UPSL games and I get why it has to be this way. They are an amateur team after all and this competition is like an Illinois version of the USOC.
This would have been fun, but the wife and I are coaching at a free soccer clinic today through Thurs.
Straight from work, 6-8pm. Maybe I could convince her to grab some food and head over for the 2nd half.
Is this a kids soccer clinic? If it is I'm surprised they're doing it in the evening. Good to see you're contributing your time in any case.
Aurora @Dekalb County had over 500 in attendance in DeKalb . Final score was in favor of Borealis 4-2.
I'm sure someone in Peters shoes tries to be a fan of all the seedling clubs in the area. Also I think the club saved one of the high demand but sold out scarves just for him.
If for no other reason that Aurora Borealis is the greatest name is sports. DeKalb County United is one of the worst.
Regardless DeKalb County has done a stand up job in this start up phase. I have no idea how this will translate long term , but they're making a statement on potential lower division support in the region. I've said it a few times on the boards here. There is a ton of talent and experience in the fire supporters to replicate this in the city and burbs. I think it was Louisville that was the mould for starting a supporters owned club in the US, DeKalb follows a similar model. I really hope some of the right people get a spark to start small supporters clubs around the region .
I'm sure he has dropped in , particularly when CJ was there . I think he was in Dekalb to support the good work the club has been up to . I've said it numerous times on this board that I'm not the biggest Wilt fan for long-term running if a club. But he is without a doubt one of the best start up guys in the business . Madison is gonna rock the socks off USL3 , I've been following what he's doing up there and it's impressive .
