@thomas19064 "We make so much of changes and all that kind of stuff. I don’t believe in that. I’ve never believed in that. So I’m not going to start believing in it because somebody wants change because you’ve lost a game....Changing coaches, changing systems, changing players, it usually leads to absolutely nothing." What a gem of a quote http://www.philly.com/philly/sports...-stewart-borek-dockal-20180424.html?mobi=true
Earnie most not have been paying attention to the Eagles, Phillies, & Sixers these past couple of years.
Can't remember the last time I laughed as hard as I did reading that article. ES is out of his mind. If he was a doctor he could be sued for malpractice. "The data that we get back are for a lot of parts pretty darn good." WTF? April 24, 2018 - the garbage truck incident and the reveal of Earnie Stewart's lunacy.
For a lot of parts pretty darn good...with the exception of those pesky "Goals Scored", "Goals Allowed", and "Games Won" parts of the data set.
And that is really the crux of what drove me nuts about the article. Stand by your Coach in public, by all means, but don't go and say all that other stuff that is completely untrue. We're not idiots, but Earnie continuously paints us to be.
Firing Jim Curtin may not solve many problems because we still have the same folks at the top making the decisions on who to not pay enough to bring in.
They'll just promote one of the assistants. What even is the point? This team won't succeed until Jay sells and a different ownership group cleans house and brings in a new culture.
Fearless prediction -- LeToux replaces Curtin as head coach. SugarDaddy: Hey Earnie, the fans seem to like this French guy, right? ES: Uh, I think so. At least that's what the data indicates. In Union World, it's the only thing that makes sense at this point.
Didn’t Jim go back and get his after he was already the head coach? I dunno, I don’t think this team is ever competitive with Sugarbags in charge, but there’s too much talent on this team to just say that this is just a money problem. There’s gotta be a guy out there who can look at this roster and get more out of it. Maybe, you know, try a different formation or something.
There’s a new license for pro coaches. You used to need A but there’s now a more exclusive pro license. I believe you could get in with an A and then get the pro while employed but I’m not sure LeToux could have any higher than a C right now. B and A licenses take some time to attain and you need to be working with a team to do the practical exercises.
Any loss is disappointing, but let's face it: if Greg Vanney were also coaching the Union, Philadelphia would have lost or the game would have ended at a 0-0 tie. This loss is squarely on Stewart and Sugarman. Our results against Columbus and Montreal are better indicators of Jim's ability.
