Hope Barry doesn't mind, just thought I'd add a new thread for other Sports that guys might be interested in talking about whether it's Cricket, Rugby Union, Rugby League, Boxing, F1, Olympic Sports etc.

This guy looks like the real deal, great KO v Martin. Would love to see him verses Fury in the future, would be fireworks for sure.

Good thread. Probably should have made one ages ago. Missed the T20's and Six Nations.

Joshua is impressive but I think Fury's style would give him issues. It would be one of the most hyped up fights in UK history.

It feels like the Heavy Weight division has come to life again at last. No doubt Fury v Joshua would be hyped up like the Benn v Eubank ( different weight I know ) fights from the 90's in that regard, always remember the huge hype with those fights. I think the different styles would make it fascinating, Joshua would go for the kill with in 5 rounds, anything after that you would fancy Fury.

It was an impressive win by Joshua and he really did look the part. But in doing so, Martin was exposed as not being up to much at all, and the least determined heavyweight "champion" I can recall (once he got hit with a good un). He wasn't rated as a real top fighter but some pundits had it down as an even, hard to pick fight.

Joshua took it steady and was more controlled than in his last fight against Whyte. And when opportunities arose he let fly with power punches. The Fury match would be very interesting. It shouldn't be forgotten that against Whyte he was in trouble in that second round from a punch that didn't look that powerful. A big factor in heavyweight boxing (in particular) that is rarely considered, is that of stamina. I'd be curious to see Joshua's tested to the full.

    Verdict: Joshua to win.

Yeah, Martin was a bit of a wet lettuce if I'm honest. As soon as the first round started it looked like Joshua was in control and I actually think he could have ended it in the first round but he rightly just tested Martin to see what he had to offer which was very little. There was an instance in the first round when Joshua had him after a jab but he held back instead of going for the kill, think he wanted to give the paying public some sort of value for money :giggle:

I guess we're presuming that Fury will defeat Klitschko again to have the unification fight with Joshua? Also I think Joshua is going to meet Haye next which should be interesting but Joshua should beat the aging Haye but nothing is certain.

One would have to think now that Klitschko has had months to resolve his inhibited and feeble effort in the first fight he must do a lot better next time. But he seems to have such a one track mentality perhaps he won't. And at 40 he's very old for a boxer, even a heavyweight - which doesn't help of course.

Really looking forward to see Itoje again, him and Kruis are monsters in that second row. Great to see Slade back, maybe he can fill the problem 12 position.

Take a look at @guardian_sport's Tweet:

Not really a surprise he has pulled out after going down at the weekend against Saracens ( I think ), shame he has yet another injury but still we have excellent options for outside Centre plus its been some time since he has played for England so were used to it.

England team to face Wales on Sunday even without the Saracens and Exeter lads, that's still an very good side, shows the depth we have. If only our football team has as much depth

England side to face Wales: Mike Brown, Anthony Watson, Jonathan Joseph, Luther Burrell, Marland Yarde, George Ford, Ben Youngs; Matt Mullan, Dylan Hartley, Dan Cole; Joe Launchbury, Courtney Lawes; Teimana Harrison, James Haskell, Jack Clifford.

Would like to have seen Kvesic at 7 though instead of Haskell.

I used to love boxing but barely even watch it anymore. You had to wait five years for certain matchup and both fighters aren't even in their prime by that point.

You will all know the world's favourite Muslim convert has died. I was bored already with the tributes and then saw a much better one on BBC (when I watched a cancelled recording of what should have been Dateline). Just heard Radio 5 has one - brought forward to 9.30 tonight, I gather. (for anyone interested)

What a match. Really physical aswell as some good tries. Comparing the pressure England were implying at the breakdown with the World Cup  Regardless of results you can see the progress that can be made with a good coaching set up.

Get in there, that was a great match to watch. Australia's attack is brilliant to watch but our defence was superb and our counter attack was clinical! Best game I've ever seen Haskell play in an England shirt. Owen Farrell ice cool with his kicks and generally excellent along with Ford when he came on was excellent. Great change by Eddie replacing Burrell as he was all over the place. Itoje, what can you say about him for a 21 year old, what a player he's gonna be, scary potential. Can't wait for next weekend now for the second test in Melbourne, as Oz will be want revenge.
