The lesson isnt about the technical merits of any argument. The lesson is about conformity. It appears that, to education as well as law enforcement, conformity is the citizens greatest obligation. If the childs credulity on marijuana provides probable cause for a marijuana search warrant then isnt it reasonable to tax audit everyone calling for tax reform?
I shake my head at the thought of people who believe this action to be a good idea. Are Kansans really, truly supporters of totalitarian, government-controlled oppression? Is that their idea of American "freedom"?
A day later, I am still astonished. Listening in to children in classrooms, then calling in the police based on that information to raid the family and break it up the family unit is Soviet. East German. It is repulsive. It is thoroughly, reprehensibly un-American.
Were I that kid I would tell the offending school employee, the one pushing the action, that I am going to make his student nickname 'Stasi-Man'. then, I would make it happen and laugh at him on sight.
I'm guessing that most involved in this decision would struggle to find Germany on a map, much less know about Stasi.

This thread has been dormant for awhile, similar to how in real life the Drug War is on the decline because everyone but the dumbest and most racist among us know its time is up. Then we went and elected one of the dumbest and most racist President and made another Attorney General. Law enforcement officials say that Sessions and Cook are preparing a plan to prosecute more drug and gun cases and pursue mandatory minimum sentences. The two men are eager to bring back the national crime strategy of the 1980s and ’90s from the peak of the drug war, an approach that had fallen out of favor in recent years as minority communities grappled with the effects of mass incarceration. Crime is near historic lows in the United States, but Sessions says that the spike in homicides in several cities, including Chicago, is a harbinger of a “dangerous new trend” in America that requires a tough response.

You seem to a) be really concerned about how much pot I smoke and b) be incapable of thinking people can have strong opinions on issues that don't really affect them personally.
<Gladys> That's what friends are forrrrrrr... Not at all. Hey, you got any pipe cleaners? Naw, I guess you don't...
God bless Justin Trudeau and the Liberal party in Canada. Heck, God bless the Canadian voters that voted for PM Trudeau and the Liberal party. CBC LINK
Royal assent is a given if it passes both houses, is it not? How often would a government proposal based on a campaign promise not pass?
