It's definitely more fun socially. I like partying up with random people it's quite refreshing and loot is shared
Made it through the main story missions. I enjoyed it. It seems the only end-game content currently in is level 30 dark zone, and repeating the story missions in hard and challenge mode. Not quite sure that'll be enough to keep me playing after I got all the side stuff finished.
