Judging by the way Madrid treated Pepe both when he was accused of tax evasion and during his contract negotiations, I wouldn't put it past Madrid to shit on Ronaldo. They have no respect for their stars and exemplified that with Casillas as well.

I highly doubt Ronaldo is making these claims unprovoked.

BULLSHIT. They offered Pepe a one year contract with a club option second year, he wanted two. Guess what he is quoted as getting offered by PSG? A one year deal. I love Pepe more than almost any other Madrid player, but this isn't on Madrid.

Now you wanna talk Madrid ********ing up, look at the Iker situation. They screwed that one up big in my mind. Or even letting Ancelotti go. The club isn't perfect by any means, but for years they've bowed to Ronaldo when he feels hurt or needs to stay with messi in terms of recognition or $$. The narrative is skewed on this board, and it's understandable but there is a disappointing lack of holding Ronaldo responsible.

Marca very rarely goes anti-madrid but when they do it's so they appear justified and unbiased but everybody sees right through them. If there is anything Marca is anti, it's of Barca and everybody knows this. The same thing goes on with Abola with Benfica.

I don't know what else you need, you are just refusing to acknowledge it. When credible media comes forward and says this is whats happening, it means everything is pointing in that particular direction. Can that change? Yes, but rarely it does. That's why they are called credible media because they barely get the facts wrong. When i say credible, i'm mostly taking about Sky but Marca reporting on what they did with nobody from the Real Madrid hierarchy disputing it REALLY nails it down imo.

Of course Marca is anti-Barca, but that has no relevance to the fact they have been quite anti-Madrid in the past. Those two "anti" labels are on different levels of course. The Madrid outlets despise Barca but they also report and make up things to stir the pot in Madrid and can't take hard stances towards players they aren't fond of or feel the fans aren't fond of. They voted Modric as the worst transfer of the season when he arrived, which was obviously bullshit and all the fans knew it but they were trying to create more drama and stories. When Madrid is winning, it's harder for them to do, as they will look even more silly than usual. I've watched Marca's game for years now, you may think they are aimed to help madrid but I can assure you their only aim is to sell papers.

Sky is credible? Maybe more than Marca but they usually just pick stuff up from the rumor mongers.

we disagree on this, as I'm seeing it as a Ronaldo-driven drama with Madrid as an easy mark. If I thought Madrid ********ed up, I'd be ok saying it. They messed up with Iker, Ancelotti, Higuain (though it's paid off), Di Maria, etc...but when it comes to Ronaldo I think they've done what they should have done. He just wants more it seems. And I think the Messi competition makes all of this elevated. New contract for one, new one for the other, Praise from one club to their player, praise to the other from his club. Barca laughably played the "we are all messi" support card when he was hit with the tax charges. It was comically out of tune. Is that what robaldo is looking for? Curious to hear more.

The timing of this is pretty terrible and it's obvious who's driving the drama. It's a pity. That's all I got, done until more surfaces. We'll agree to disagree.

Just about every reporter has a version of the situation. Are there actual facts of this story that I can read?

Come on, Vic. Don't go fake news on me.

The facts are out there (Real Madrid hierarchy contacting Spanish media to list CR7 without a real madrid jersey whilst writing about the tax controversy and to not refer to him as a 'real madrid' player but only as 'Portuguese' player)

Credible media put that forward and it hasn't been retracted.

Everything else is just alternative facts.

The mainstream media is going all Alex Jones on this CR7 bombshell. I could care less if he stays or leaves but the stories are really strange.

We all know CR7 is an emotional person. Why would he blame Real Madrid for what the authorities are charging him with? How is that Real Madrid's fault?

Real Madrid handled his charge in an ugly manner behind the scenes and it came to light.

I mean no offense to you. You're very insightful especially on Sporting boards. But there's a lot of posters on that board that are, idk, delusional, maybe? Not as bad as United though.

I like our crazy here though

We all enjoy our own craziness, and I understand that. But many of us can be more objective than others and weed through the nonsense.

@Sumol a recent post on the RM Ronaldo thread addressed this and the poster stated that the covers of Marca, As, and ABC after the charges went public had him in Madrid gear. And it's funny how we all choose which sources are reputable when it suits our agenda. The reality is, Ronaldo and/or Mendes is upset about something relating to the tax charges, they are allowing these rumors to continue full bore and RM has publicly backed him, with an official statement and now with Florentino in yesterday's interview. The rumors about him trying to distance himself or the club from Ronaldo is nonsense. What would he gain from doing that, seeing as how Ronaldo is sensitive as hell about how the club supports him? Doesn't add up.

Here i've came to the conclusion that Z is the Sporting psycho and Sumol is the Benfica psycho.

    Their posts are comedic gold.

Papers need to sell in the off season and people eat these stories up. Pick a side. Throw shade. Rinse. Repeat.

Just because they had him in Madrid gear doesn't mean the Real Madrid hierarchy didn't contact them and ask them not to do it. Of course you won't see this brought up in your RM Ronaldo thread because we all know how el plasticos treat CR7. Like a dog.

I'm not choosing my sources, i listen to the most credible ones because they are the most likely to report the facts. I explained this already. The reality is, i have sources to back up my claims and you have none. Could mine be wrong? Of course, but media deemed as credible by the football world isn't wrong on the regular. You just made up a narrative in your head relating to Ronaldo & Mendes, and that alone exposes how biased you really are. No sources, just plucked from your imagination. Thanks for that.

With regards to Florentino, he was really timid in yesterdays interview and the questions being asked were so bland. What is he gonna do? Admit the horrendous way they treated CR7 behind the scenes? No, that would be looked upon as a snotty embarrassment. Instead, he stated that he's going to talk to CR7 after the confed tournament to try and cool the waters because he knows they messed up, that's why he's waiting. He knows.

I hope he gets sold for over 100ME . Sporting would get a portion of the "Forming Club" allotment , over 2ME.

It's crazy that he's turning 30 though. Hes done so much already.

Besides Nadal - Federer and Bird - Magic and maybe Brady - Manning I can't think of better rivalries

Nadal is much better than Federer. Federer is an overrated piece of junk.

    Nobody cares about basketball.

Manning isn't even comparable to Brady. Nothing close to a rivalry.

Nothing gets the global attention that soccer does, therefore nothing is greater than Messi-Ronaldo. As one sided as it may seem for Ronaldo sometimes.

    The end.

Federer is better than Nadal, maybe it would be the other way around minus the injuries.

    Don't care about netball either.

Only Manning I know is Chelsea Manning and Brady sounds like a shop for young mothers and toddlers.

    Still Messi vs Ronaldo.

    To be continued...(by somebody else)

It is the other way around even with the injuries.

    23-14.

    Let's not ignore the facts.

I swear, everybody hates Nadal because he's besties with CR7.
