Yet he's frequently referred to as such. Ergo, he's overrated. Beckham, Ronaldinho, Roberto Carlos, Xavi, Henry, Rivaldo, Hazard, even Ibra have spoken about him as being perhaps the best ever. Freudian slip? Honest question: are you open to having that opinion changed?
I don't base my judgment of him based on what others say about. I heard and acknowledge it but I don't agree with anyone who puts in him in the top 10 of all time. But conversely, I certainly will not deny his place as one of the best in the game. That's a stupid question tbh: if you can make a valid and convincing argument to me on any subject matter, of course I will not only listen to it, but it could be enough to convince to change my opinion on said subject. That being said, I will never change my opinion on anything simply because someone said so either. I've yet to read any such argument regarding Zidane and the claims that he is overrated. It was mentioned that Tes or someone else made a great case for that argument 10yrs ago or so. If nothing else, I would love to read it...
Well this is awkward... I went on a quick hunt for Teso's analysis and stumbled on this... Ongoing discussion - Cristiano Ronaldo to Madrid for £80m
If being a top 20-25 player of all time, instead of top 10 makes him overrated in your book, then you might a point and knock yourself out with it. My overall point and stance about him still desn't change one bit...
Even if you incorrectly believe he is one of the best in his position in his generation how can you possibly justify him being top 20-25 of all time when you factor in every position and every generation? Even if you only looked at purely attacking players he would be outside it.
Again, it's your opinion and it's one I certainly do not share. Taking into account a multitude of factors from their ability to play the game, the influence they had on their teammates and the teams they played in, to their personal and especially team achievements, there is nothing that deviates from my belief that ZZ is among the greatest players the game has seen (in recent history at least). You (or anyone else for that matter) still have yet to make a single compelling argument to make me believe otherwise...
Once more, the "because I say so" argument does not work with me. I've enunciated via several different posts in the last couple of pages where my position comes from. You can debunk those points and you'll have a chance of swaying me in your direction. Anything else and you're just wasting your time...
The "argument" is your own failing for not engaging in the discussion or even bothering to discuss the listed players. Don't bother responding unless you are willing to. Less crying and whining about criteria (because it doesn't suit your stance) and more constructive discussion please.
I thought I already told that I have no desire to engage in a discussion you are deliberately (and incorrectly) stirring in a particular direction for your benefit. Why would I talk about or compare Zidane, a purely creative attacking midfielder to a winger or a striker? Nice try though, but can try that kind of disingenuous stuff with someone else...
No-one mentioned wingers or strikers. What I did mention and list was a group of players who all operate in the central area of the final third in the area between the centre circle and the box. You have also failed to provide any list.
I don't have to provide you with any "list": the onus is completely on you to prove your point since you're the one who mentioned that there are at least ten players among ZZ's contemporaries who are better than him. You've failed in that regard, so far as I am concerned, with the 2 lists you provided so far.
Speaking of lists, how about this list? https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/foot...ited-north-korean-footballers-premier-league/ Everyone knows Franco was a Real Madrid supporter, but I had no idea Kim Jong-Un was a United supporter.

Just spotted this: Confirmed that @ManUtd won't receive Champions League money from market pool due to qualification via Europa.
I thought this was known about? UEFA distributes half of a country's TV pool based on their domestic league finish which means we only get money from the pool based on competition performance as we qualified through the backdoor. The other issue this time is Liverpool and Celtic. The BT Sport TV deal is a UK one which means the pool gets split six ways as both qualified.
It was news to me as I don't follow the revenue side of things that closely. No surprise that United revenues have soared, according to a report published three hours ago. http://www.bbc.com/news/business-41346317

They absolutely are going to get into live sports. It's the last stronghold of the old cable companies, really, and everyone has streaming boxes now.
Don't know where else to ask these questions, so I'll ask them here. I am thinking very seriously about going to Old Trafford for the match against City on December 9th. I have never been before and don't really know how to plan for it. For those who have been: What is the best way to secure a ticket if I can't get them through the primary/official ticket market? Where are some good places to stay? What is the best way to take in the full match day experience? What are some good spots in Manchester generally?
