Yup. Some of the greatest footwork ever. He really was special. Even when he got chubby his acceleration was insane. And that was a level down from what he was doing at PSV/Barca.
The complete package really for a striker. After his knee injury, his explosiveness, which is what arguably separated him from just about anyone else, was his biggest loss. He still managed a pretty good career because he still possessed speed (when it was needed) and excellent technique, but it still was never the same as it was prior to 2000.
So I've been playing soccer a bit more lately and have been having trouble with blisters from cleats I've had forever. I usually double or triple layer my socks but towards the end of playing it gets to a point where theres so much moister and movement that it doesn't make a difference. Recently stumbled upon https://trusox.com/ - which a lot of professionals are using. Has anyone purchased socks with traction on the bottom before? Any cheaper recommendations?
Trusox are awesome but are too damn expensive. Sounds to me like you need to switch cleats or get ones that for your feet better.
Interesting piece in The Times today about divisions within the Glazer family regarding the future of the club as well as potential Chinese interest in a takeover.
Yeah Jonathan Wilson mentioned this on the Guardian pod last week. The Brexit devaluation is making the Glazers wary about the spending at the club, according to the whisper.

What kind of cleats do you guys use? I've had my Preds since just before the 2010 World Cup: Shopped around about a year ago but never found a pair I loved. Ideally looking in the $120 range.
Look on eBay and online sites for last year's model or old colorways. You can usually find great deals on last year's top model. I've been a vapor guy for a while but recently switched to the hypervenom. I tried the Adidas x 15.1 last year and the heel slip on those was awful. If you have more boot questions there's a bigsoccer boots forum with some people that have way too many cleats and can answer any questions.
I was considering a white pair while looking around last year, never followed through though. I found most other cleats were far too flashy or just downright ugly.
Yeah, black copas. Been rocking them ever since I wore them at school. They fit well and honestly, flashy boots sell quickly. Can't find 14s anywhere, much less 15s.
I've graduated from Copas but I hate all the neon colored boots nowadays. I'm currently wearing these. Theyre as close to all black boots as I could find for a decent price. I love the blackout boot look.
