I'm not entirely sure thats a "no". I think his guestbook was meant for people wanting to say hi, not a propaganda campaign.
Well, in German it would be something like "Bitte Jermaine, wir brauchen Dich. Spiel bitte für die USA!"
is there something you don't understand about sarcasm? hence the facepalm. Although he would be a great addition to our midfield, truthfully he is not a necessity. There's no reason to cry over spilt milk.
Any journalist with any serious news on this? I mean what the hell is wrong with the soccer journalism in this country? Not a single soccer writer can pick up a phone to perhaps interview the guy? Chripes, how incompetent.
Lawyer: But what about that tattoo on your chest? Doesn't it say "Die Bart, Die?" Bob: No, that's German for "The Bart, The." Officer: No one who speaks German could be an evil man.
ok i see there is another thread in the Gen forum, well anyway my question is - where does he fit into the Nats lineup - what impact can he have - will we see him on the Gold Cup team (he already has a US passport so no need to wait)
My hope is that he chose the US because he was offered a roster spot for the Gold Cup; however, I think there is a period of time for the change to take effect. Thus it might not be possible to participate.
WOOHOO! US midfield looks to have plenty of players with defensive bite -- Jones, Bradley, Edu and, for back-up, Clark and Mastroeni. Gotta feel bad for Clark however. He's done what he could, good and bad, and is going to be one place down in the pecking order, I would wager. Mastro, I don't feel so bad about as he's had 2 WCs to experience.
Bring him into camp to evaluate him. Let him watch a few qualifiers from the stands. In the event that we qualify, call him away from his club for some garbage minutes in a late qualifier. Then take him away from Shalke's winter camp to join camp cupcake, so he can become familiar with all the other US players that don't have a prayer to make the world cup team. Once he's paid his dues, perhaps he'll be an answer for qualifying in 2014.
Why not Azteca camp, assuming the timing works out? Let him get familiar with the A team instead of the C team. If he's not fit, and likely he won't be, then he can watch what CONCACAF qualifying looks like at the big house. Minimal Schalke impact, immediate evaluation and integration.
I agree. Jones definitely has bite to his game and it is Clark and Mastro who will lose minutes. It shouldn't take long for Jones to start for USMNT as the DM. It will be interesting to see if he gets Gold Cup action as BL teams start their pre-season training by then.
No Gold Cup (or Confed Cup) for Jones. He can effectuate the switch in August, so he's still ineligible until then.
