Seems kinda silly we top the group but end up facing a tougher opponent in Spain while Germany gets England. I wonder if at some point Germany knew the score of the Denmark game and was like hmm do we really even want to top the group

Where are the bedwetters that said we'd lose 5-0? LOL

Di Biagio is a dumb ass, but he FINALLY got it right by playing Bernardeschi centrally (which I've been calling for since the beginning. Why waste his talent on the wing?

Great gutsy win by the boys. Too bad about the stupid suspensions for yellows. We lose Conti and Berardi I think. They boys showed due palle today! Finally.

Sure looked like they played the end to get England. They did not try to even the result, which would have given them first place.

Pellegrini is going to be special. Gagliardini and Benassi were bosses today. Nice to see them gel.

Caldara and Barecca showed why it was a such a stupid idea to leave the on the bench the last game. Pellegrini was great in midfield and Chiesa is a special little player, good football brain at his age.

Who will replace Conti? Both Berardi and Conti are big losses, but Chiesa can replace Berardi with Petenga and Bernardeschi, but do we have a legit replacement for Conti?

I guess this wasn't surprising at all.

The co-efficients before qualifying kinda predicted this

    [IMG] Spain
    41,470 1
    [IMG] England 36,252 2
    [IMG] Italy 36,129 3
    [IMG] Germany 35,370 4

Calabria will almost certainly start next game over Conti. Unless Di Biagio gets wacky and starts three CB's instead.

According to Uefa stats, Germany didn't have a single shot on target. Against Denmark, with the same back four, we only allowed 1 shot on target. Against the Czechs we allowed 4 on target. To be fair, we hardly had a midfield in that game.

I'm guessing Calabria in for Conti. Might not be that bad.

Single yellow cards expire after the group stage. In next rounds, Uefa is going to allow a 4th sub if the game goes into extra time.

The yellow card rule is such bs, everything should reset after group stage.

A couple observations from the match today.

    1. We completely dominated the match. If we timed some of our runs a little better we surely would have put a couple more past the Germans

    2. Bernardeschi was absolutely brilliant today. The talent is there, if only he was more consistent.

    3. Caldara looks like the real deal

    Di Biagio dodged a bullet.

Gigi Di Biagio reveals he predicted the Czech Republic’s failure to beat Denmark and “it was mission accomplished” against Germany.

Just shut up and put out the best possible lineup to beat Spain.

At least they looked like a real Italian side today. Still not convinced about Conti. He spends more time in the opposition penalty area than his own. He got beat easily on that one time Donnarumma needed to make a save. BTW, rumor has the keeper axing his agent.

I think I was the only one who said I hoped they would lose 5-0, but only if Di Biagio played the same useless formation and tactics. He fixed it, and now all he should think about doing is putting out the best possible team for Spain and shut up.

No one thinks this was a biscotto?

1-0 Italy was the only scoreline that would have both teams advance and the game was played at a snails pace.

No. I think Germany wanted to avoid Spain. Once they knew they had the semifinal locked and it would be England, they quit.

I don't think so. At least not from the beginning. Maybe when Italy got the lead, they thought less about going forward than they normally would given the fact they didn't wanna give up another goal but I think at the beginning they wanted to win the game.

Who knows tho......maybe we see them again in the finals
