Issue isn't a DM or CBs - I think Mustafi gets unfairly maligned sometimes, though displays like today really didn't hurt his case.

Bigger problem is an inability of the midfield to control the game. Maybe Miki will be that player.

Neither Xhaka nor Mustafi have anything like the concentration levels necessary to play for Arsenal. Both switch off 5-10 times a game, and it kills us. Please get them adderall.

Miki is not designed to control the game
He has flashes to change the game but he certainly cannot set a tempo ...

Cbs are an issue because we have only had one good one in kos for years with various wack partners

We have not had a solid cm who can hold since silva left ten years ago

The composition of the team and structure is awful and Wenger is to blame

    Bottom of the barrel

We are going to expect PEA to score a hat trick every game
    Defense is a damn turnstile
    Mustafi makes senderos look good
With granit - fraud signing at the moment
Which leads me to question why in this window we sold coquelin... we could have played coq instead of xhaka and we couldn’t do worse in the defensive midfield in front of chech and mustafi

    Should've said this earlier...

We were undeniable crap today, but credit goes to Swansea and in particular their new manager who's done an amazing turnaround in his short tenure. They bettered us in nearly every category, except perhaps Possession which we dominated with 74%!

The fact that Wenger practically abhors winning the way Swansea did, with directness, counter-attacks, pressurizing the opponent, and only 26% of the ball... bugs the sh1t out of me.

What we need really are good wingers with lungs of iron that can play at both ends. Got too many #10s.

I think Kos is done too. I am gonna take my lumps with Holding now and a mid table finish.

Pace in the team is an issue, but he bigger problem is the garbage midfield play.

Elneny plays because Xhaka sucks at tying the team together, but the whole thing still doesn't work.

The way Xhaka just let Clucas run by him yesterday. OMG.

Twice. He needs to sit. It still may be the case that we're not using Xhaka correctly, i.e., deploying him in a way in which he'll find it difficult to succeed. But I'm starting to think that maybe he's just not very good. At least AMN is athletic. Could our midfield really be any worse with him starting over Xhaka?

Answer to that question is, sadly, yes.

Problem with Xhaka is that he switches off way too often, and is an inconsistent short passer.

No, being fair. Xhaka plays some absolutely gorgeous passes, both short and long. But far too many misplaced one.

I see little redeeming value in him, aside from his very occasional good passes. If he were younger, I'd say he wasn't ready yet, send him out on loan. He seems to be one of our many signing mistakes in recent years.

Xhaka has a bad habit of not tracking runners from midfield

I don’t mind if we play a midfield 3 with him wilshere and a screen but we don’t have one

I would rather have Ramsey in the dm role than xhaka
