I'd be ok with that too but ultimately I want a Varane-Militao pairing in a few years if both are ready for that.

We aren't buying a right winger when a midfielder is the priority.

Who would you even want to buy that we've been linked with for the wings?

Kubo not only said all of the right things but he delivered then so confidently. He was like a 50 year old Japanese businessman in that interview.

I may be reading too much into it but is this an indication of having the mentality to match the talent?

So Arsenal up next for us.

Am I the only one looking forward to seeing what happens between Kroos and Ozil given the fallout from Ozil's international retirement?

I like that he speaks fluent Spanish, but I think people are reading too much into it. In fairness, he was already in Spain at the age of 10 for 4-5 years. He didn't pick this stuff up over preseason.

Research shows it's much easier to learn a foreign language at a younger age, which he did. Good on him, but I'm not going to read too much into it.

It is definitely indication of strong work ethic and character in general. I would not be surprised if he goes Super Saiyan. :D

Except he can and he will just like Rodrygo will and Vinicius did last season.

Non-eu slots are filled I thought?

Vinicius, Eder and Rodrygo (also Valverde which needs to be sorted soon)

Something about U18 players registered with youth teams and ability to play with first team without taking up an EU slot.

They can only play 10 games though before needing to be registered? and Kubo is 18 right?

    I'm all sorts of confused

    Edit: https://en.as.com/en/2019/07/17/football/1563349662_628825.html

As it stands he can't play unless Rodrygo goes on loan

Given that he has already played in Spain for 4 years while with Barca, does that mean he only needs one more year before he can apply for Spanish passport?

    Japan does not allow dual.

So he'll always take up a spot

That sucks. How is this going to work then? Vincius is the closest, being 4 years away. Otherwise those 3 spots will be always taken up.

No idea, this is the Japanese law:

" Loss of citizenship requires the approval of the Minister of Justice.

A Japanese national is assumed to have renounced their nationality upon naturalization in any foreign country.[6][8]

Under the revisions made to the Nationality Law in 1985, Articles 14 and 15 require any person who holds multiple citizenship to make a "declaration of choice" between the ages of 20 and 22, in which they choose to renounce either their Japanese nationality or their foreign citizenship(s). Failure to do so entitles the Minister of Justice to demand a declaration of choice at any time. If the required declaration is not made within one month, their Japanese nationality is automatically revoked. "

Zinedine Zidane sprung a surprise by playing Rodrygo as a midfielder in Real Madrid's first pre-season friendly of the summer, with the Brazilian deployed in Luka Modric's role and doing so with impressive results.

"He's asked me to play on the inside more," Rodrygo said of Zidane's wishes.

"I'm more used to moving around the flanks, but the coach wants me to do this.

"It's a position I'm comfortable with and I like it."

Players who are 18 or under can play all the games with first team even if they are registered with youth teams. Vinicius was registered with Juvenil A last season and 10 game rule didn't affect him as he was only 18. So Rodrygo and Kubo can do the same. AS had an article on this.

Rodrygo is fine until Jan, when turns 19. Kubo is then good for the rest of the next season.

Yes, that's true but that doesn't apply to the passport/nationality issue no? As far as I know that's a matchday dependent limit as well, so we can't have more none EU players than allowed on the team unless Somebody is suspended or not included.
