Fluff piece if there ever was one. I have not read any of this dude's columns, but I get the feeling he went over the top, per ESPN's instructions no doubt, to get the spazzos moist. I mean, is that scrub going to be a good player? Most likely he will be. Will he be a transcendental superstar? Maybe in an alternate universe or in the Nads' delusional minds. These fools are putting all of their eggs in the basket of someone who got benched by a younger, better, more skilled player, but you don't see the English proclaiming Sancho as the next Maradona, do you? Like always, the U.S. yearns to be the center of attention in something. They cannot seem to fathom how significantly irrelevant they are in the landscape of world futbol and it eats at them so they have to create this massive hype around someone who has not accomplished a damn thing in his career in order to get some notice.
