Now that thiago is leaving bayern..they've been jerking each other off to no end hoping pulisic would transfer to bayern soon enough
Pulisic came to Dortmund in February 2015 as a talented sixteen-year-old nobody of Croatian descent. A German club developed him into the player he is today. Playing in the Bundesliga is what improves his skill and understanding of the game on a daily basis. The transition from mere talent to professional footballer in Pulisic's most formative phase of his career happened under the guidance of German coaching. I just don't see where U.S. football deserves any credit or how their fans can claim bragging rights for accomplishments achieved by foreigners in another country. The German system develops many very talented foreign youth players. Pulisic is neither an anomaly nor a sensation. Had Pulisic spent his last three years at some crummy MLS academy he'd most likely be on his way to become the new Freddy Adu. German football fans, DFB members and taxpayers are the ones deserving of complimentary sandwiches from nads fans, since it's their financial support that makes the assistance given to developing nations like the U.S. possible in the first place.
This undoubtedly applies to a more educated minority, however, the majority of U.S. football supporters (e.g. MLS fans) seems to be delusional beyond redemption. Prior to the 2014 World Cup some of my U.S. friends and acquaintances began mentioning to me that German football wouldn't be anywhere without the U.S.. Because of Jürgen Klinsmann. Surprisingly their stories all matched. The gist of it was: USMNT coach JK revolutionized German football to the point where we were finally able to compete on a world stage. I spent a lot of time explaining to each one of those poor clueless souls, that a) Klinsmann is German himself and a member of the 1990 World Cup winning team b) Germany ranks among the most decorated nations in world football c) the system overhaul started in 2000 with Rudi Völler, way ahead of Klinsmann's time d) on the contrary, the USMNT relies on German dual nationals who didn't make the DFB selection. I never cared much about the opinion of U.S. football pundits since their knowledge rarely exceeds the level of elementary school students in true football nations. Nevertheless, my curiosity regarding the source of above mentioned comments led to a quick search, which in return unearthed a myriad of ridiculously uninformed or intentionally misleading U.S. media pieces, like Yahoo Sports' "Germany must give Jurgen Klinsmann credit if it wins World Cup" (the original title read "Germany must thank the U.S. if it wins World Cup"). Most articles exuded a stench of insecurity-based self-aggrandizement that put the world and the sport of football at the mercy of the U.S., see CNN's "How America won the 2014 World Cup". Who doesn't remember the media and fan outrage following Klinsmann's honest assessment "U.S. winning World Cup not 'realistic'", which led to clowns like Michael Wilbon spouting xenophobic nonsense... In a 2016 ESPN survey 67% of 123 polled MLS players believed that MLS teams would survive in the EPL. The truth is, MLS clubs would get spanked in both upper divisions of the top five European leagues. Yet, U.S. media and fans frequently claim parity with or even superiority over Ligue 1 and Serie A. Liga MX has made it an annual tradition to humiliate MLS clubs in CONCACAF Champions League competition, which doesn't stop U.S. outlets from claiming that "It may not be long before Major League Soccer is a better option than Brazil". So, are there realistic U.S. football fans? Definitely. But... they are far outnumbered by delusional blowhards who believe in the fairy tale of exceptionalism and preeminence. Their only excuses are the perennial demagogic and jingoistic U.S. media complex as well as their own lack of savoir vivre.
This is exactly what I've been talking about in the previous post. All their brains seem to be connected to one giant bullsh*tting machine... US puts themselves on par with others because they didn't qualify but look at who they faced and look at who US lost to.
