Muy poca gente debe saber esto. Firmaron los derechos de emisión de la Copa América de Argentina 2011, Traffic Sports y Univisión, que es la cadena hispana de televisión más importante de los Estados unidos.
-En Radio, el convenio fue entre Traffic Sports y ESPN Deportes Radio. Los dos medios tienen la exclusividad absoluta del evento, para promociones, transmisiones, etc.

South America’s Most Popular Soccer Tournament Will Feature Mobile Capabilities for Expanded Coverage for the First Time
Dec 7, 2010- Miami, Florida- Traffic Sports has reached an agreement with Univision that will allow the Copa America 2011 to be broadcasted exclusively on their television network, with the tournament beginning on the first of July, carrying through until July 24th. Univision will be airing Copa America coverage with the option of unprecedented mobile capabilities.
“The Copa America is the most important sporting event that will be played next year and for the first time ever will be broadcast in HD around the world, with the 2011 edition of Copa America on the horizon, we are thrilled that Univision will once again be covering all the game live directly from Argentina,” states Enrique Sanz de Santamaria, Vice President of Traffic Sports. “Even more exciting, this edition will feature more capabilities in expanding the coverage of the tournament with the new digital media, including mobile, internet and on-demand capabilities. Univision paired with the 2011 Copa America makes the possibilities endless for what we think is the greatest sporting event of the year.”
The Copa America is the premiere soccer tournaments held in South America as all of the continent’s nations send their best players to strive for the championship and is also one of the most followed by Hispanic Americans. This year, however, Univision has made significant improvements in its technological capabilities by leveraging its HD broadcast, digital and on-demand platforms to deliver non-stop action throughout all twenty-six days of the tournament

 

What cable/sat. providers offer Univision HD?

 

I think its over the air in most major cities.

 

dishnetwork offers that in the 2 univisions streams they carry!


I do not know if sister stations: galavision or telefutura do

 

Does anyone know will any canadian channel show the tournament.

 

CANADIAN dish or cable tv, does not carry any of the 4 channels that univision has involved in copa america?

Recently Univision.com has been showing international friendlies and the entire world cup streaming from their website. Will they have the entire tournament online to watch live as they did with the world cup?!

I really hope so.. I only have Univision at home and not telefutura or galavision.

Anyone know?

It talks of where to watch the Gold Cup games on Univision's networks, but I don't know enough spanish to understand if the games will also be all online as they were during the World Cup...

 

The last Copa America in 2007 streamed all the games online. This one should be no different. You will be able to see all of them online on Univision.com

and the game was Ecuador - Mexico

I think the games for July 1st are not going to be televised by Univision?
Meaning inauguration and arg-bolivia are off the schedule?

So, do we have a complete TV schedule for the US??

 

I get annoyed at Mariano Closs' and Fernando Niembro's anti-Brazilian bias on Fox Deportes Libertadores broadcasts, but I have to admit they are better than the Galavision/Univision/Telemundo guys at least in terms of play-by-play and tactical commentary.
