France would be a great country if it wasn't for the French.

    French wine is actually overrated.

It's overprized in Britain. You have to spend > 15 pound to get a decent bottle of Bordeaux in Britain, or > 10 pounds to get a decent bottle of Cote de Beaune, for example. Same for nice Alsatian Riesling, or Chardonnay from Bourgogne. Just buy it on the continent, it's far cheaper and then you wouldn't call it overrated anymore.

The closest I can get is to quote Christof Staehlin 'Du armes dickes Land aus Fussball, Fernsehen und Bier!' :)

Seriously though, can't think of anything comparable. What would it be for the USA? Go USA? Or for the UK? God bless the Queen? Seems a rather useless expression anyway. Are you looking for a football chant?

Doesn't have to be a football chant....its something that people would use to express more or less pride in the country, like "Go USA" or, in Korea, "Be The Reds." Something like that.

    :)

I actually googled 'Deutschland Schlachtruf' and here's what I found:

    Deutschland vor, noch ein Tor!

    Du bist Deutschland!

Wer nicht springt, ist auch kein Tscheche! (Beckmann about Euro 2004)

    Die Hunnen kommen!

Deutschland Deutschland ohne alles, ohne Butter, ohne Speck! (this one about finance minister Eichel)

    Fred fuer Deutschland!

    Aus! Aus! Deutschland ist Weltmeister!

    Not sure is this helps.
