Great looking squad, but why Li Weifeng's not in there? As far as I remember, this is probably our strongest squad since the last AC.

Roughly what is the age for these players? I dont watch c league so i'm not familiar unless they have played a few times for China.

    Cao Yang (Tianjin Teda)
    Lv Jianjun (Harbin Yiteng)
    Yan Song (Dalian Shide)
    Yu Tao (Shanghai Shenhua United)
    Du Zhenyu (Changchun Yatai)
    Wang Dong (Changchun Yatai)
    Xin Feng (Shenzhen FC)

And are any of them [really] good?

so all the overseas players are in the squad:D i wonder how much time they will play, and more importantlly how they will gel with the team. but yes the team is probably the strongest since 2004.

i think they gonna play a lot vs australia coz is a big team very physical and with quiet good technic that gonna be a good challenge for china. and the match vs uzbekistan will show us how hard will be the Asian cup match against them but i think they r maybe a bit better than kazakstan

I think that's a bit too harsh on him. The guy is reckless and his football IQ isn't very high, but he's not that bad.

Cao Yang (Tianjin Teda) - 26, almost a fixture now with the NT.
Lv Jianjun (Harbin Yiteng) - Don't know about him.
Yan Song (Dalian Shide) - 26, was China's C.Ron at Asian Cup 2004.
Yu Tao (Shanghai Shenhua United) - 26, no description needed.
Du Zhenyu (Changchun Yatai) - 24, rising star, was wanted by CSKA Moscow.
Wang Dong (Changchun Yatai) - 26, already has played in many friendlies.
Xin Feng (Shenzhen FC) - 29, blue-collar defender.

On paper, it looks like a really strong squad, but we'll have to see how they actually play. Its a very young team and there are some interesting decisions with who is in and who is out.

No Datou or Tiezi - is this the changing of the guard? Will we ever see either play again for the MNT?

No Gao Lin - is the choice of Mao just giving a look to someone else or is this unspoken punishment for Gao's actions at QPR?

In the midfield, is this one last chance for Yan Song to prove that he's back to AC04 quality? Is it a decision that they want to develop youth leading into the WC qualifying instead of playing an older guy like Tao Wei? Is it meant as a wakeup for Chen Tao that he is very replacable?

I think this is close to what we'll bring to the AC, I think there are only a few spots that are still undecided and these 2 matches will be a chance for a guy like Yan, Mao, Wang etc to impress the coaches and win a position or end up being left off the roster.

Anyone knows the time of the Mar. 27 match against Uzbekistan? I might catch a ferry to Macau to see it if the time is right.
