yep. But personally I don't see how he can improve with the B team. Once he was fielded against Chile, he was the best japanese player on the pitch by far. In pre-season, he was voted as our best player. I won't pretend I watche Castilla on a regular basis, but from the few I watched last season, I don't see how it will help him. At some point you need to play with better players to improve. Average players around you can penalize your performances more than improving it.
It depends on whether we think him punching down on hopeless youth teams or untalented lower division hacks (remeber when the Atleti B team captain bit Vinicius in the head?) will contribute to developing a better quality player.
We know that as things stand he's not gonna start a lot of matches, but he'll probably rotate between both teams and get some match time (like Copa or some league games), while getting more familiar with the environment, bulking up a bit etc. etc. In the end it's ZZ's call, he might be impressed and we might see a drastic change. But forcing Kubo into the first team, where he will most probably be benched, only to wait for those Copa minutes, with nothing in between, especially with the 3 non-eu rules, might not be the best decision. He can play the same minutes for the first team, but play for the youth side as well, instead of sitting on the bench.
Yes, he's not the quickest lads out there, but that's more of lacking options in the final third than his pace. There's no one making runs to open space or breaking the line beyond him. Nevertheless, he looks lost vs Alcorcon.
I don't think he's slow. You have to consider that when you're running with the ball, you're also (i) looking for passing options (there were none at the end) and (ii) facing the 2 CBs (meaning you can't simply run through them and will have to think about your next step). The aforementioned means that you simply have to slow down a bit. I'd argue that IF this was a counter and the guy that fell was the 'last' defender, he'd never catch him. To me, and while he's no Vinicius, Kubo is quick enough with the ball at his feet!
With Ronaldo being there, i would think so. He was the one that wanted him to join Valladolid and he will probably make sure that he gets a lot of playing time but you never know with these La Liga teams. Last year Lunin was supposed to play a lot for Leganes but he ended up playing 2 games in total.
We’d benefit more from having any of Kubo, Rodrygo and Vinicius on the right side than Lucas, the former two work really hard off the ball as well.
Kid is wasted out wide. He's definitely a future midfielder like Modric. He just has such amazing touch and skill people want to force him to be a wide attacker.
Yes he remind me also on modric. His movement is so similar to Modric. His position should be CM/AMC.He isnt for a winger cause he is a bit slow for that position. But his first touch and passes are incredible to watch.Too bad castilla doesnt play second league. It would be ideally for him to play 6months there as Vinicius did.
The end result being he will become Getafe quality wide forward, instead of being top tier central midfielder. Honestly, i expected Raul to realize that.
He literally made his name as a wide attacker, eventually he'll play in midfield but he is no slouch out wide either, he can beat players with ease.
You're being argumentative for the sake of it. He made his name from having tremendous skill and ability. Hence why they force him out wide yet he can't be fully effective. Zidane played him primarily in midfield. This is why we were able to see those skills, abilities and workratw shine.
