kim minjae might be able to complete 75% right now if watford can somehow can convince fa that korea will be top 50 at the end of asian cup on january In calculating the Required Percentage, any Competitive International Matches for which the player was Unavailable for Selection are to be excluded. Unavailable for Selection means the player was not available to play due to injury or suspension and written evidence supporting this, setting out the games missed and the reason(s), has been provided by the player’s National Association or club doctor to The FA. For the avoidance of doubt, a player may not be classed as injured (and therefore Unavailable for Selection) if he was listed as a substitute in a match and was not used. Such matches may be counted as non-appearances when calculating the Required Percentage.
This part is what I also found a bit weird. Usually it's normal for a club to consider multiple offers, but here they say they are concerned because they were already arranging something with Beijing... But I think I might be reading too much into it. Either way, making sh*ttons in China or going to premier league, well done kim.
KMJ has locked down guys like Modeste, Pato and Witsel in the ACL. Being a physical player with quick feet and decent ball skills, I think he can definitely be a success in Europe, more so than KYK.
Who knows, maybe 한준펑 is right and Watford is willing to make him the highest paid defender in the league, ahead of Kompany and Van Dijk...
Maybe he is nervous about getting no offers from CSL again if he breaks his words to Beijing? Idk... it sounds fishy tbh
In football a deal is a deal when it's written in a paper, not just by words. Beijing will have no one to blame but themselves.
Well I hope this deal happens. I do think KMJ is a pretty limited defender but only way he can improve is by playing in Europe. Hopefully he'll get better. But at the same time, it's not just about signing with a European team but is also about playing so let's see what happens. If he goes to China, I hope Jeonbuk milk it to 15M euro.
Umm just no. Football dealings and contracts are not above common law. Oral contracts are just as enforceable in courts... in fact, a lot of B2B contracts are based on handshakes and no physical contracts.
https://www.foxsportsasia.com/footb...n-jae-premier-league-watford-jeonbuk-hyundai/ Here a non-Korean source for you folks.. Kim was also linked with Chinese Super League club Beijing Guoan and the two clubs were in talks to strike a deal for the defender. However, Jeonbuk have now said that the talks had not gone the right way.
It's not a source. They literally took 한준펑's article... and very badly translated too. The original source says that the talks are at a very advanced stage if anything.
Jeonbuk Hyundai chief has confirmed that they received the offer for Kim Min-jae from Watford. (SPOTV News) #kleague— Korea Football News (@KORFootballNews) January 19, 2019
I don't nessesarily think that talks being at an "advanced stage" will deter JB (But most importantly KMJ) from striking a deal with Watford. It would piss Beijing off but similar things happen all the time. They don't have to honour sh*t. Ultimately up to the player and whether or not he agrees to personal terms.

did the math.. don't think so. purely based on FIFA calendar & their meaning of A matches, i threw out EAFF tournament & pre-Jan camp friendlies of 2018 (3 friendlies).. along with 7 games where he was seriously injured. best case scenario.. even by counting 4 potential games of Asian Cup for Korea 19 cap out of 26 = 73% for summer transfer (if Korea adds 2 friendlies each for March & June.. with Kim MJ playing all 4).. June 2017-June 2019 period 23 cap out of 28 = 82% Kim MJ has a good case for work permit in summer
Hopefully the offer is for the summer, it's better that way. 1. Joining the team during preseason. 2. WP all figured out. But I don't know if that's how it works. But Pulisic joined Chelsea but he's going to play next season, same happened with Keita as well.
Whatever the case, Baek Seung Gwon has said that Watford has a solution and that there is an article which permits the transfer. We have to wait and see what happens for now.
