To all Haitians out there - there was a tournament in 1997 (within living memory for some of you, surely!), to celebrate the re-opening after 3 years of closure of the Sylvio Cator Stadium in Port-au-Prince.

From RSSSF.com, the following details are given:

    Semi-Finals
    ??/10/97 Martinique 2-1 Cameroon (19th or 20th?)
20/10/97 Haiti 2-2 Cuba, Haiti won 4-1 on penalties

    3rd Place Match
??/10/97 Cuba 1-1 Cameroon, Cuba won 4-1 on penalties (22nd?)

    Final
    23/10/97 - Haiti 3-0 Martinique

I've been able to verify only one result (Haiti v Martinique) and also the dates of both Haiti games. However, I'm not sure about the format of the tournament. I've read some reports that say it was a 6-match tournament (i.e. every team plays each other once), and one report from Haiti that said it was a 5-match tournament (?).

So, in any case, there may be matches missing, or the information at RSSSF may not be right. Is there anyone in/from Haiti able to help? Also, was this Cameroon's full national team? Seems like very poor results from them.

I don't rememlber the competition format but for the Cameroon Team, it was a local squad. Only players from Cameroon local championship.

Cuba - Cameroon (22nd) is a full international for FIFA.
