Stockholm is my second home and I can only comment that it would be a complete surprise to me if any sized stadium would be built in Ostermalm. It would seem logical to place a DIF stadium there, and I am not saying they wouldn't build one, but that is where the upper crust of Stockholm's population is located. To me, I doubt that those who live there would want football crowds marching through that area on a regular basis (especially the DIF supporters--terrible! ;)). Best to have them marching through another area of Stockholm. When Rasunda was around, then that was shared by AIK and DIF, with Hammarby in Soderstadion by themselves. Now that Tele2 is built, Hammarby shares with DIF and AIK has their own place. DIF always seem to be "sharing" with someone, so I can understand why they would want their own place. Also, I am not sure that Stockholmslan would want to commit to build a third stadium the size necessary to house DIF, particularly after building two others within the past ten years (at least without some sort of financial commitment from other parties). Remember that photo you had on page 14?

But, I would defer to Kung's post above--well said. It is literally the upper echelon (DIF) vs the workers (HIF); what better clubs to have share a stadium than those two. It will be interesting--I can't wait!

I can only say: be excited! I have followed Kennedy since he was with DIF and he is a great player to have on your side and one to be weary of if you are opposing him. Good get by the Fire--he should play well with Magee, Amarikwa, and Shipp.

Absolutely agree regarding Igbo. Exciting player. Agile. Speed. Hopefully will produce at Fire.

Central midfielder Haglund is indeed confirmed new signing at Hammarby. A very popular player at IFK. But he´s been going through a long injury period. Now he´s saying that he´s back stronger than ever. He is a hard working central midfielder. Good physical ability. Great tackling. Leadership qualities. Team-player. With IFK getting a new coach he will not be feeling secure of getting a 1st team spot. But great player by Allsvenskan standards. Now also eperianced with time in the Eredevisie as well.

Bangura made many AIK fans aggrevated by leaving earlier for Elfsborg. Now he´s back at AIK! How will this affect the side and how will some critical fans of him, see this move? A replacement for the above mentioned Igboannanike. Igbo is slightly smaller in built. A bit quicker. Very agile and athletic. This guy is stronger but still quick. Great finnishing ability. Especially inside the box.

Sam Johnson, an attacker out of Division 1 club Frej IK is signed at Djurgården. Quickness in his running in depth. Good target as well. powerful inside the box. Teamplayer. Good one-on-one. Scored 12 goals in the Division 1 North.

New coach at Kalmar, Swärd might just be getting former MFF-talent Jasmin Sudic. A solid two-way, balancing central midfielder with sound technique and passing.

Malmö´s technically skilled, nifty Little midfielder Simon Thern is signed at Herenveen in the Eredevisie. He´s recently faught though a long injury period destroying this past 2014 season.

Two Elfsborg veternas have prolonged their contracts at the Borås club. First NT-legend Anders Svensson and then Andreas Klarström a defender also securing a lenthening his career at IFE.

I want to ask you both this question in a different way. MLS teams operate under a restrictive salary cap. In 2014, the pay for the 20 top players on each team's roster could not exceed $3.1m. There are very limited exceptions. Each team may designate up to three players where their wages (typically wages over $387,500) can exceed the $3.1m salary cap. Because each team only gets three of these "designated players", they are important -- typically the league's top players -- and many Fire supporters are disappointed that the team didn't use this precious roster position to get a more established player.

With that background, I am curious if:

    (1) You consider Kennedy Igboananike to have been one of AIK's top three players?

    (2) If you look at the big clubs in the Allsvenskan (Malmo, IFK, AIK), had he remained in Sweden, would you expect Igboananike to be one of the highest paid players in the league?

    (3) In your opinion, does he warrant this kind of investment by the Fire?

    Hi Triplet!

Interesting questions. And it´ll be very interesting to see if this little nifty guy could prove his worth to some of these Fire supporters.

    (1) No, at least not last season. Maybe the season before that solely looking at scoring. This past season he scored 5 goals in 26 games. He had 3 guys in the AIK roster scoring more goals. These 3 particular players I would also call bigger stars. I think AIK fans would agree.

*Celso Borges. 6 goals to his credit. Essentially an offensive midfielder.

*Goitom, the veteran attacker, playing alongside Igboannanike managed 12 goals.

*Bahoui, the young highly talanted Sweden NT player scored 14 goals. And note also that this guy is a flank player.

The replacement to Igboannanike is probably going to be seen as more of a starplayer to the coming season. More so than Igbo was. But this is not solely due to the actual technical attributes and prowess on the pitch and number of goals potentially scored but to the fact that Bangura has more of charisma personality wise.
But looking at goal production, Igbo certainly can score goals when in full form. 2013 he scored 14 goals which certainly makes him a star player in that regard.

There is two ways of looking at this. One is the fact that he is a very exciting player to watch. I think with a good start to his Fire campaign and feeling at ease with his situation in MLS and amongst fans, he could definately with his speed, agility, and above all quickness, surprise a few. He could definately gain a few fans with his erratic style. Could he top it off by scoring a lot of goals then voilá he could even be seen as a star. A lot will probably be depending on Fire also having a better season obviously as well.
The 2nd way of looking at it is his personality. He seems to be a very jolly, happy guy. Good teamplayer. No cockiness. But on the other hand very different to his replacement. He has no special charisma where he shines through in that department. His replacement Bangura might not produce an enormous amount of goals the coming season but he has a lot of charisma and will always "be seen" as a bigger star anyways.

    (2) No, triplet. Most likely not. I don´t even think he´d be one of the highest paid at AIK had he prolonged. A lot depends on which agent you have. And maybe his agent now felt he could get a better deal with Fire. At AIK he wouldn´t be at top of the pile in this regard. And therefor not in the other Big City clubs here.

    (3) A lot of the answer could be refered to in the 1st answer. As you mentioned sir, A few Fire supporters expected a bigger name as a one of the new DP´s. So this Igbo-lad certainly has a lot to prove right from the word go. I suspect the Fire scouts have not stared themselves blind at the fact that Igbo haven´t produced many goals this season at AIK. But rather at his 2013 season with 14 goals. He can produce potentially. Also they might have looked at his down-to-earth kind of manners. Teamplayer qualities. And above all his exceptioanl speed. He´s got a good shot. I saw him make one of the most beautiful goals in Allsvenskan. A bicicleta inside the box, showing immense athletisism. Interesting to note is that he´s scored a few with his header despite being very minute in stature. This thanks to his agility.....

One thing is for sure and that is the fact that AIK have appreciated his service and contribution at the club. Popular amongst fans. They also made a profit off of him with this transfer. A highlight for the AIK fans might have been seing their club knicking him from their fiercest rival Djurgården and then seing him score quite a few goals the 1st two seasons.....

Agree, and just a further note about Igbo. 2014 was an off season for him, but the 2013 season (his first with AIK) was a career season for Igbo, finishing with 14 goals for the Gnagar. That tally left him tied for second in the Allsvenkan with IFK Goteborg Forward Tobias Hysen, who was the league's Forward of the Year and MVP for 2013. Whether that qualifies him as an appropriate DP for Chicago (or anyone else) is up to everyone's own personal interpretation, and time will tell. As an Allsvenskan and Fire supporter myself, I have seen Kennedy in action for the past couple of seasons and I believe he is a good addition and he will be appreciated by the Section 8 crowd. He has speed and will work well with Magee, Quincy, and Harry Shipp to dismantle defenses throughout MLS.

And if Igbo can score a couple of goals like this at Toyota Park in 2015, then I think everything will be ok. No pressure, Kennedy.

Well ILkicks and Triplet1.David Accam is signed at Fire! Wow! What a great signing surely. Talking of speed. The question is if this guy isn´t even quicker than Igbo, if that is even possible. There you have your star-qualities for you :). This guy is a bit more extrovert as well. He could definately become a crowd favourite in Chicago!!! Entertaining playing-style and an extrovert personality.....

Very exciting for Chicago! Both are proven goal producers, not in the lower divisions but in the top flight!

Indeed! The kind of combined speed Fire will get now is out of this world.

Meanwhile Henrik Larsson will have a hard time replacing Accam at Helsingborg. Without him they'd probably been struggling for a new contract. He Held them under his wings in a few games later on during the season in vital games.

Henke Larsson have proven at Falkenberg that he's a decent coach as well. The future now looks brighter at the Scanian club with this talented coach and an ongoing reconstruction of their arena Olympia.

Yes, my next question was how AIK and Helsingborg would react to these departures during the winter window. For AIK, I imagine Igbo's departure is a little easier for the reasons you state above--Goitom is already there and AIK seems to have a better feeder system and an ability to recruit bigger stars from elsewhere.

However, I would think Helsingborg is a bit handicapped when it comes to a replacement due to the money reserves going towards the stadium. It seems they are in a rebuilding period, not only to Olympia but to the club itself, especially after their 2014 finish. I thought that Bedoya was a good fit for Helsingborg and he seemed to produce for them. Hopefully, Henke can attract another star player to replace Accam (perhaps he has someone in mind?).

Yes, AIK have Goitom and now also Bangura. Although the latter wasn´t too impressive at IFE he ight feel more at home again in his old club and therefor produce yet again. We all know what this lad can produce. AIK have indeed left their worst finanial crisis behind them. Much thanks to some successful sellings of players such as Markanen and Quaison. Their Sports Director (Wesström) is very competent at retrieving cheap bargains and then developing them at the club selling them with profit.

You are also spot on regarding HIF. They are still not out of harms way financially. Henrik Larsson the manager is not given a huge budget by their normal standards. But as you wrote maybe he could attract some big talents solely by being King Henrik. Such a name could perhaps attract some major external financieers. As you wrote Olympia is being refurbished and will also steal some of their strength. But it is mostly an investment done by the municipality of Helsingborg though. With the new modern Olympia installed I think they will be right back in the thick of things. That is by 2017. Bedoya was definately a success (now doing well at Nantes in Ligue 1). Replacing Accam will be very difficult. He´s a very unique player. Congrats to Fire. He´s good enough for some decent leagues in Europe no doubt. It has been a very turbulent period for this Southern club. They sacked their manager Hansen (now at Åtvidaberg). Their Sports Director Jansson was forced to step back by their board and given a new assignment. To top it off their highest ranked senior board member Myllenberg got heavily critisized by Helsingborg´s fans and subsequently had to step down from the thrown. Supporters in Sweden have a lot of power evidently.

Good input from IlKicks as usual!

Wow our globetrotter is planning things again. Wonderful mate! Looking forward to your Allsvenskan reports! Yes those Stockholm Derbies is something else. And as you wrote Hammarby back in the Top Flight so things hotting up indeed!

The germans are amazing in their support. I like the way many of those german clubs are run. A bit like the Swedish ones, where the supporters still seem to have a lot to say a bout things.

The Firm of Glasgow is a Jewel! Stefan, you´ll be like a journalist reporting from a war. Quality videos and reports soon to be shown here guys! Looking forward to it Afca_Mokum! :)

    Go Ajax!

Aye :D can't wait to be at a Stockholm derby :p will be amazing!

Yeah German fans are mental. Enjoyed the matches at Eintracht Frankfurt a lot. Really want to see Dynamo Dresden and Hansa Rostock and Fotuna Dusseldorf once as well.. Great fan base in lower leagues.

And the Glasgow derby will be war indeed.. friends of me are members of Celtic's Green Brigade so Im curious to see what's coming :p That Sunday the 1st will be absolutely chaos! Can't wait really haha

And Ajax. well we got a nice draw in the Europe League against Legia Warsawa.. Those cunts are big friends with ADO The Hague hools so despite the fact that Legia has a ban on both home and away fans by uefa Mafia I do think we will get some trouble in Amsterdam. And in the Dutch League things are going reasonable.. winning last matches and only 2 points behind p$v. We do have one match played more until tnight I believe but its oke. We will take the 5th championship in a row! :D

    Hello all!

I was reading how my team, DC United in MLS, was looking at adding a player from the Swedish league in midfield. Rumor has it that Markus Halsti could be the one, since he is out of contract and fits the teams need as far as a defensive minded central midfielder. Has anyone heard anything about this, and what quality of player is Halsti?

    Hi DCUSA!

He would not be a bad choice I think. My experiance from seing him at Malmö tells me this:

Positives: Experiance from earlier in the Finnish National Team. Experiance from the Champions League with his Malmö, including impressive performances versus teams such as Juvenstus, Atletico Madrid and Olympiacos. He is a physically strong player. Great tackling, positioning and tactical awareness. Intelligent football brain. Down-to-Earth kinda guy and a good teamplayer.

Questionmarks? Well, he is not the fastest of the lot. But he makes up for that with his great positioning and tactical awareness and experiance. He might not be the most technically refined. But he has a more than adequate basic, functional technique.

He has stated several times that he whishes to move on from the Swedish League and test his abilities in a new enviornement.....

I believe DC United only has one DP right now (Eddie Johnson), so I think they have room for another DP, Halsti will demand that kind of money. But, I would echo IFKgotet positives and add that although Halsti is not a big scoring threat like a Henry or Robbie Keane, he is more of a "thinking" play maker on a club. I would compare him to a Tab Ramos or Brian McBride type of player; his threat is how he distributes the ball when he gets it--a play maker for sure. He would work well with Johnson and Rolfe, I would love to see a crossing pass from Halsti to Rolfe and a volley into the opposite post for the score (maybe against NY or Philly, not against Chicago).

Halsti was captain of the 2014 Allsvenskan champ Malmo and was a finalist for 2014 midfielder of the year. During 2014, Malmo was in first place from week one thru the final week of the season. He also has UEFA Champions League experience with Malmo. Question is will DC United want to pony up the cash for Halsti, who only seems to get better with age. Most of all, he has SISU.

Players in and out of your Allsvenskan clubs up until today and a quick glance and overview:

    Klara in: players in
    Klara ut: players out
    utgående kontrakt: outgoing contracts
klubb ej klart: no new club yet

    AIK
    Klara in:
    Johan Blomberg (Halmstad BK)
    Fredrik Brustad (Stabaek)
    Haukur Hauksson (KR Reykjavik)
    Mohamed Bangura (klubblös)
    Dickson Etuhu (klubblös)
    Klara ut:
    Martin Lorentzson (Klubb ej klart)
    Kennedy Igboananike (Chicago Fire)
    Ibrahim Moro (Kairat)
    Edward Owusu (Akropolis)
    Utgående kontrakt:

early thoughts: 2000 expectant AIK supporters met up with the players for to the 1st training of the season. 5 interesting names coming in. Midfielder Blomberg was a prominant player at Halmstad. Fredrik Brustad I think is a great new signing. Big, strong attacker but still immensely quick from what I hear. Needs to develope his technical abilities. Icelandic prsopect Hauksson looks an interesting guy too. Bangura is back in Black! This after a little escapade in Glasgow and Elfsborg. His signing at Elfsborg fueled discontempt amongst many AIK supporter. NoW he suddenly seems welcomed back just like that.Etuhu is the guy I´m most interested in following here besides Brustad and Bangura. This guy have extensive experiance from the Premier League. A defensive central midfielder.
Out from the roster we see Lorentzon. Shame. I thought he did a good job at AIK. I am sure there is a rational explanation for this :). Igbo out we mentioned earlier. He was a very entertaining striker no doubt. But to be honest I feel AIK now have a stronger attacking roster with guys such as Goitom, Brustad and Bangura.
Sports Director Wesström is very competent. Once again he has atracted some seemingly potent players. But Watch out for Borges and Bahoui leaving soon. Both star players in Allsvenskan. Can they be replaced too....?

    BK HÄCKEN
    Klara in:Mohammed Abubakari (Åtvidabergs FF)
    Klara ut:
    Oscar Lewicki (Malmö FF)
    Dime Jankulovski (Slutat)
Richard Donkor (Right to Dream Academy)
    Augustine Okrah (Bechem FC)
    Björn Anklev (Örgryte IS)
    Hosam Aiesh (Östersunds FK)
    Utgående kontrakt:
    David Frölund

Early thoughts: Abubakari was one of Åtvidabergs most prominent players. Is that it? I am sure they will sign a few more players?
Because out goes Sweden Under-21 player Lewicki, a central midfielder. Hard to replace. Anklev is a veteran leaving for a nearby club Örgryte. Frölund´s contract is expiring. Otherways no big names out.
Häcken can always brag about getting a new fresh arena to the coming season though.....

    DJURGÅRDEN
    Klara in:
    Kevin Walker (GIF Sundsvall)
    Elliot Käck (IK Sirius)
    Tim Björkström (Brommapojkarna)
    Omar Colley (KuPS Koupio)
    Daniel Berntsen (Rosenborg)
    Sam Johnson (Frej)
    Klara ut:
    Andreas Johansson (Slutar)
    Mattias Östberg (Klubb ej klart)
Philip Sparrdal Mantilla (Klubb ej klart)
    Simon Tibbling (Groningen)
    Erton Fejzullahu (Beijing Guoan FC)
    Erik Dahlgren (Klubb ej klart)
    Tim Söderström (Klubb ej klart)
    Mark Mayambela (Klubb ej klart)
    Utgående kontrakt:
    Philip Hellquist

Kevin Walker Went Close to winning the Swedish version of the singing Contest idol. Is he a better player than a singer? Decent at a top club in Superettan, Sundsvall. Björkström is a good solid central back coming in from relegated BP. Good signing I Think. Berntsen the norwegian have playing time at Rosenborg. Looks a good prospect on paper. 3 further guys signed from division 1 clubs. Difficult to analyze those.
A Johansson ends an illustrious career (including danish Odense). Östberg is decent centre back not prolonging. Mayambela never found his stride at Djurgården. Did he ever get a reasonable chance to show his worth? Feyzullahu´s deal with Bejing is a good one financially for the Stockholm-club. But he is on the other hand a highly competent player. But the biggest loss for DIF is surely Sweden Under-21 midfielder Tibblin!? Hos to replace the Eredevisie-departuring youngster?
Still looks a balanced squad. But as it looks now this is not yet a Championship winning roster. Being one of the Big 5´s how long will the Järnkaminer supporters accept mid positions in the League? To constantly seing AIK in front. And newcomers and local fierce rivals Hammarby now also potentially ahead in the League.....

    FALKENBERGS FF
Klara in:Hans Eklund (tränare, Kalmar)Kamal Mustafa (IS Halmia)
    Klara ut:
    Henrik Larsson (tränare, Helsingborgs IF)
    Anton Wede (Helsingborgs IF)
Halldor Orri Björnsson (Klubb ej klart)
    Carl-Oskar Andersson (Klubb ej klart)
    Andrés Thorvaldsson (Slutar)
    Utgående kontrakt:
    Rasmus Sjöstedt
    Matteo Blomqvist-Zampi
    Godsway Donyoh

Manager Eklund is back at Falkenberg after a short adveture at East Coast side Kalmar where he was sacked after a dismal last half of their season. Kamal Mustafa a youngster picked up from a local Halland County side Halmia (Halmstad).
They have lost their manager and living legend Henrik Larsson to Helsingborg. Only really notable player out is Anton Wede. Their best player. As it looks right now Falkenberg looks like one of the weaker sides.

    GEFLE IF
    Klara in:
    Jacob Ericsson (Örgryte)
    Klara ut:
    Olof Mård (Sandvikens IF)
    Simon Lundevall (Elfsborg IF)
    Marcus Hansson (Tromsö IL)
    Utgående kontrakt:
    Skuli Jon Fridgeirsson

Early thoughts: Basically nothing new coming in yet. Leaving is Lundevall their biggest talent. Not good for them sportively, maybe financially. He was bound to leave eventually. New arena for this club. It was about time.

    GIF SUNDSVALL
    Klara in:
    Klara ut:
    Kevin Walker (Djurgårdens IF)
    Johan Lundgren (Gais)
    Utgående kontrakt:
    Philip Olofsson

Early thoughts: Welcome back! As they say in Sweden, "Norrlands Fönstret" is open again. The Northernlands window is open again. Kevin Walker out as we mentioned. Otherwise totally blank. I guess their budget might be a small one so this could be a good sign. They don´t need to replace a whole host of players. Will have to fight hard for their existance the coming season?

    HALMSTADS BK
    Klara in:
    Christoffer Andersson (Helsingborgs IF)
    Jan Jönsson (tränare, Ålesund)
    Junes Barny (Ängelholm)
    Klara ut:
    Johan Blomberg (AIK)
    Oliver Silverholt (Hammarby)
    Gudjon Baldvinsson (Nordsjälland)
    Mikael Boman (IFK Göteborg)
Jens Gustafsson (tränare, klubb ej klart)
    Kristinn Steindorsson (Colombus Crew)
    Utgående kontrakt:
    Johan Mauritzon
    Richard Magyar
    Kristoffer Thydell

    Early thoughts:
New coach from the norwegian league, Jönsson. A competent and experianced guy. Well done. Also Christoffer Andersson a veteran wing back from Helsingborg. Another good choice.
But let us continue.....Johan Blomberg, Steindorson, Boman, Baldvinsson and Silverholt out! Ad to the Magyar not wanting to prolong.
Halmstad just made it last season to stay in the league after Play Offs. They need to up the pace soon or they coud be dragged down into the rabbit hole. I expect this club to build a new arena or at least reconstruct the outdated Örjans Vall.....

    HAMMARBY IF
    Klara in:
    Oliver Silverholt (Halmstad BK)
    Måns Söderqvist (Kalmar FF)
    Birkir Már Sævarsson (Brann SK)
    Philip Haglund (IFK Göteborg)
    Klara ut:
    Andreas Haddad (Klubb ej klar)
    Nicklas Lindqvist (Klubb ej klar)
    Daniel Theorin (Klubb ej klar)
    Sebastian Ludzik (Klubb ej klar)
    Michael Timisela (Klubb ej klar)
    Utgående kontrakt:

early thoughts: Silverholt a great talent from Halmstad. The same goes for Söderqvist arriving from Kalmar. Philip Haglund a solid central midfielder from Gothenburg. Hammarby attracting some well known names here.
Haddad a veteran doesn´t get a prolonged contract. The right decision I think. Timisela a wing back I thought did a ore than acceptable job at the club. He also had to leave.
Things looking bright for Hammarby. Could they challange Djurgården as the number 2 club in Stockholm in sportive terms behind AIK?

    HELSINGBORGS IF
    Klara in:
    Henrik Larsson (tränare, Falkenbergs FF)
    Anton Wede (Falkenbergs FF)
    Klara ut:
    Christoffer Andersson (Halmstad BK)
    Alvaro Santos (Slutar)
    Felix Olsson Lundgren (Malmö FF)
Roar Hansen (Strategisk fotbollsutvecklare, Åtvidabergs FF)
    David Accam (Chicago Fire)
    Måns Lagmark (Eskilsminne IF)
    Utgående kontrakt:
    David Svensson

early thoughts: This club is under reconstruction financially. But we can see the light in the tunnel for sure. Their reconstruction of the arena Olympia could symbolize that.
HIF have dumped manager Roar Hansen for the younger coach Henrik Larsson, once a player at the club. Helsingborg signed Falkenberg´s best player Anton Wede.
Veteran forward Santos ends his carreer. Christoffer Andersson leaves for Halmstad. Their biggest loss is obviously David Accam. I actually value him higher than Igboannanike. So how replace that guy?

    IF ELFSBORG
    Klara in:
    Magnus Haglund (tränare, Lilleström)
    Simon Lundevall (Gefle IF)
    Viktor Nilsson (U19)
    Klara ut:
    Utgående kontrakt:

early thought: Not much happening at Elfsborg yet. A quite year for IFE? In the midst of the tragic death of legendary Klas Ingesson, Elfsborg have rearanged their coaching staff and signing Magnus Haglund from Lilleström. He is a former championship winning manager at IFE. Lundevall we mentioned leaves Gefle for the Borås-side. A great signing is my guess.
Veteran Svensson have prolonged another season. A forward Lasse Nilsson rumoured out? MLS next destination?

    IFK GÖTEBORG
    Klara in:
    Jörgen Lennartsson (tränare, klubblös)
    Mikael Boman (Halmstad BK)
    Tom Pettersson (Åtvidabergs FF)
    Haitam Aleesami (Fredrikstad)
    Billy Nordström (U21)
Karl Bohm (U21) Sebastian Eriksson (Cagliari)
    Klara ut:
Mikael Stahre (tränare, klubb ej klart)
    May Mahlangu (Klubb ej klart)
    Kjetil Waehler (Vålerenga)
    Ludwig Augustinsson (FC Köpenhamn)
    Kenneth Zohore (Vicenza)
    Diego Calvo (Klubb ej klart)
    Jakob Johansson (Klubb ej klart)
    Hampus Zackrisson (Degerfors IF)
    Jonathan Azulay (Östersund FK)
    Philip Haglund (Hammarby)
    Joel Allansson (Randers)
    Malick Mané (Hönefoss, lån)
    Nordin Gerzic (klubb ej klart)
    Utgående kontrakt:
    Marcus Sandberg
    Mattias Hugosson

    early thought:
Despite a 2nd place produced for IFK the past season coach Stahre was sacked. In comes former Elfsborg coach and Sweden Under-21 coach Lennartsson.
Just look at that long list of players out. Let us begin with 5(!) central midfielders leaving: Haglund to Hammarby. Gerzic last season on loan to his native Örebro. Now a Bosman (fre transfer). Jakob Johansson leaves for greek side AEK Athens. South African NT player May Mahlangu is also out unfortunately. Sobralense most likely back in his native Fortaleza, Brazil. Ad to these guys Augustinsson a left wing back leaving for FCK in Denmark. Centre back, veteran Waehler. Zohore and Calvo not getting their loan deals producing signed contracts.
A lot to replace in other words. Central midfielder and a former player at the club, Sebastian Eriksson comes from italian Cagliari. Good. They need another central midfielder to replace all those guys out. Augustinsson is covered with the signing of Haitam Alesami though. Very interesting and underrated norwegian I suspect. Tom Pettersson is probably the replacement for Waehler? Boman is probably a coming supersub in attack for them since expect a solid attacking signing. If Vibe leaves I think Hysén will arrive back at the club from Bejing. During the 1st traing of the year young attacker Gustav Engvall, a Sweden Under-21 attacker got injured it seems. Hopefully not for long....?

    IFK NORRKÖPING
    Klara in:
    Daniel Sjölund (Åtvidabergs FF)
    Joel Enarsson (Mjällby)
    Niklas Bärkroth (BP)
    Klara ut:
    James Frempong (Klubb ej klart)
    Andreas Lindberg (Klubb ej klar)
    Utgående kontrakt:
    Andreas Lindberg
    Lars Gerson

Thoughts: Okey Lars Gerson leaves. But guess his replacement is former Djurgården player Sjölund? But the most significant signing for me is the highly regarded wing midfielder Bärkroth from relegated BP. The only positive performance last year at Brommapojkarna. A top assister of goals. Lightning quick. The native born Gothenburger and longtime IFK prospect......
Norrköping at one point last season struggled to stay. But a few really weak sides in the league saved the day for them. This season it looks tighter in the league. Where will this Östergötland club end up?

    KALMAR FF
Klara in: Peter Swärdh (tränare, Åtvidaberg)
    Viktor Agardius (Mjällby)
    Muktar Ahmed (FK Karlskrona)
    Marcus Antonsson (Halmstads BK)
    Klara ut:
    Hans Eklund (tränare, Falkenberg)
    Måns Söderqvist (Hammarby IF)
    Utgående kontrakt:
    Marcus Nilsson
    Cesar Santin
    Rasmus Sjöstedt

early thoughts: New coach in Kalmar, Peter Swärdh. He has shown at both Mjällby and Åtvidaberg that he is competent. Agardius is decent player signed. Not much action here. But....Söderqvist out! Their big time talent leaves! Not good at all. Nilsson a centre back didn´t want to prolong? Ceasar Santin a veteran attacker also with an expiring contract.
KFF will stay in the league. But no flamboyant signing covering up for departured star Söderqvist. Don´t expect a top placing either.....If not top notch player Elm arrives from Moscow that is.....

    MALMÖ FF
    Klara in:
    Oscar Lewicki (BK Häcken)
    Felix Olsson Lundgren (Helsingborg FF)
    Erik Andersson (Landskrona Bois)
    Klara ut:
    Matias Concha (Slutar)
    Ricardinho (Klubb ej klart)
    Simon Thern (Heerenveen)
    Magnus Eriksson (Guizho Renhe)
    Utgående kontrakt:
    Markus Halsti
    Tobias Malm

The cocky Southerners continue their escapades by winning the title again? Well, Thern a central midfielder leaves. No big loss. But Eriksson leaves for China. Potentially slightly more troublesome? Impressive in the Champions League. Halsti as mentioned wants to leave. No disaster at quick glance although he has indeed a lot of experiance and defensive abilities. Brazilian wing back Ricardinho wanted a fat wallet if he were to prolong. Malmö said no. Despite all that cash earnt from Champions League. Lewicki arrives from Häcken. Can´t complain about that signing though.
MFF will be the team to chase. A solid squad with a few hick-ups mentioned above....

    ÅTVIDABERGS FF
    Klara in:
    Ammar Ahmed (Östersunds FK)
    Roar Hansen (tränare, Helsingborgs IF)
    Klara ut:
    Peter Swärdh (tränare, Kalmar FF)
    Tom Pettersson (IFK Göteborg)
    Daniel Sjölund (IFK Norrköping)
    Imad Zatara (Klubb ej klart)
    Olle Karlsson (Klubb ej klart)
    Allan Olesen (Klubb ej klart)
    Mohammed Abubakari (Häcken BK)
    Ricardo Santos (Guizho Renhe)
    Utgående kontrakt:
    Emmanuel Boakye

thoughts: Typical for a small village club like ÅFF to lose all those players in that list as you can see. Several of them are quite good Allsvenskan players actually. From what we can see thus far they are not fully replaced. Tom Pettersson leaves a gap in central defense. Sjölund leaves for local rivals Norrköping. Great deal of lost experiance there. Abubakari and Santos in between them scored a lot of goals for the club. Now both gone.
Roar Hansen has a tough task ahead to manage this tiny club towards a new Allsvenskan contract.....

    ÖREBRO SK
    Klara in:
    Klara ut:
    Ilir Berisha (Klubb ej klart)
    William Atashkadeh (Klubb ej klart)
    Boris Lumbana (Degerfors)
    Mohammed Saeid (Columbus Crew)
    Magnus Wikström (slutat)
    Utgående kontrakt:

Little action here. The Sports Club will lose Saed to MLS. A fairly unnkown player here in Sweden to be honest. A bit surprising to see him leave for that league then. Atashkade a fairly young forward leaving. Wikström ending his carrer. A veteran and homegrown at ÖSK. Gerzic was on loan last season from IFK. A free agent who will now very likely be back for another season in his beloved ÖSK.....
Their last half of the past season was exempliary indeed.

A long way to go until we can conclude the result of this silly season....Early days.

    Kung repped this.
