    Re: Allsvenskan 2010

Nice to see you starting up a new thread :). I will try to give you guys some info about the up-coming season as we come nearer and nearer the the start of the season.
I also just wanted to add what Ceres have mentioned before, that Allsvenskan should be downsized to f.ex 12 teams to improve the standard of quality amongst the teams. A perfect example of the poor class we see to the upcoming season is f.ex that midget clubs like Åtvidaberg and Mjällby have advanced to Allsvenskan. Clubs like Hammarby and Norrköping (teams from bigger towns) are unfortunatley down in the Superettan. One major negative effect of all this is off coarse that we will see a major drop in attendance.

    Kind Regards, IfkGötet

    Re: Allsvenskan 2010

Well reducing the number of teams would be an idea for two years time. With the leagues teams this year I would say towns such has Åtvidaberg and Mjällby may not be as big as others and yes this will hinder attendances.
The only thing I would say about Mjällby is that Erton Fejzullahu is not there anymore which is a shame. I was looking forward to see him this year.
Hammarby need to sort themselves out while Norrköping need to get back together and push for the glory days again.
Looking forward to the new season!

    Re: Allsvenskan 2010

I'm not only thinking about the standard of quality and size of the clubs in general, but also the fact that 16 clubs have to share the TV money..... In Denmark we got a much bigger TV deal and ther are only 12 clubs to share the $$, which of course is an advantage, also to a smaller team that might win promotion...

Djurgården`s Mikael Dahlberg havs left for Gefle. He has earlier complained that he hasn´t been playing as an attacker in Djurgården. In Gefle he suddely becomes a big star and is given an attacking role.

Wanderson, in GAIS, from what I understand is leaving for a div. 3 (!) club in Spain. He together with IFK`s Hysén won the league scoring table the past season. GAIS have now sold three of their best players to the up coming season.

Ivan Obolo, attacker in AIK will go back to his mother club in Argentina, Arsenal De Sarandi. Further theirimportant central defender, Nils-Erik Johansson has prolonged his contract with AIK stretching to the season 2013/2014.

Robin Söder, the hugely talanted forward for IFK is back from his longterm injury and training.

Three new finnish players are now contracted with Djurgården. Kasper Hämäläinen, Joel Perovuo and Joona Toivio.

The highest leading figure at Helsingborg, Sten-Inge Fredin has left the club after a long period of turbulance in the clubs board rooms. It was his own desicion as he didn´t have same view in financial matters as some of the other leading figures in the club. Henrik Larsson have by the way left his playing career at the same club, as he let for old historical and local rival, Landskrona, where he will be head coach. Landskrona is a Superettan club.

Philip Haglund will most probably leave his current club, BP, for dutch club Herenveen.

Here follows a list of whats happening in your Allsvenskan clubs at the moment:

    Updates pre-season:

    * An Australian central defender is on atry-out at Trelleborgs FF. The reason for him trying out his luck in Sweden is to try to grab a spot in the NT-squad for his country.
    * Peter Gitselov has signed for midget Allsvenskan club Mjällby. The 26-year old has recently been playing in the Russian league and has earlier played for Rubin Kazan.
*The island club of Häcken from Gothenburg has signed Vinicius for a further season at the club. Häcken now say they are contempt with the quality of their squad.
*Mjällby won´t give up hopes for signing up Tobias Linderoth of Galatasaray. Elfsborg are favourites to get his signing but at least now have some competition in the matter.
*Tobias Hysén says he will stay at runner-up, IFK Göteborg. So the rumours of him going to play abroad can be cancelled. He jokingly syas though that he would´nt hesitate to accept an offer from his favourite club in England, Liverpool.
*David Leinar and Robin Jonsson have prolonged their contracts with Örgryte (Superettan). Good news for the club who soon will loose Alvaro Santos. The club will try to reach the highest league again but competition in Supperettan will be tough.
*The Örebro native Abgar Barsom have arrived from the try-out in Turkey. But it is mostly clubs in Norway and Sweden who are interested in signing him.
*BP have siged 19 year old Marcus Irestam from Spårvägen. He will instantly though be going on loan to local club Gröndal.

On another note we can once again conclude that a winning team of Allsvenskan the past season, this time AIK have lost players like Oblo, Jonsson, Hooiveld and Öhrlund. If swedish clubs continue in this pattern they will never reach any group stages out in Europe.

On a more positive note we can forsee some nice trends in Allsvenskan ticket sales already. All clubs are currently selling better than last year. This of coarse won´t help to bring the avarage up-wards thanks to the fact that a couple of extremel tiny clubs have reached the highest league.

One could also wonder why Elfsborg would want to sign Linderoth when they already probably have the strongest midfield in Allsvenskan-
Anders Svensson, Stefan Ishizaki, Emir Bajrami, Daniel Mobeck, Daniel Nordmark, Jari Ilola and Martin Ericsson.

I think Elfsborg will win the title this year. AIK have lost key players. Elfsborg for me.
Mjallby and Atvidabergs will go down (maybe i said BK Hacken might go down last year and i was totally wrong)

AIK 0 - Örebro SK 1 at Rasunda.

AIK played quite poorly, didn't wake up until late in the match. Örebro had a solid match, showed a little offense, but not a whole lot, but they were effective in stopping AIK's drives. USMNT member Alejandro Bedoya had a solid game for ÖSK, especially in the first half, very energetic with good passing.

So after drawing with Bromma, AIK falls. They played underneath themselves.

AIK at this rate would be lucky to qualify for Europe. They haven't looked like the side that won the title last year.
Helsingborgs are looking good though and Orebro are looking good for a push to Europe.

Anyone else who is as impressed as me what Helsingborg has accomplished so far? My god they are in a nice flow. Last game with one man short they turned 1-0 to 1-3. Impressive what a little bit of confidence can do :)

By the looks of the stats, Kayke(Hacken) hasn't been doing well. Is he a starter?

    Hello, all.

Finally found my way over here. Have always been curious about the Finno-Scandian leagues, but never knew enough about the teams or could find the English language sites to find out more.

Glad to have found this forum and SVT play so I can figure out what team to follow.

Awful position in the league by AIK. But they at least won at home against Malmö, another big team.

The bad league-position shows in the spectator-numbers in Stockholm:

Another big club in a spot of bother is IFKGöteborg. They won a must-win game at Ullevi. But big sections inside the stadium are gaping empty due to the bad start.

Still they sing for their club:

meanwhile Hammarby are fighting in division 2. Frustrating loss of point against small Superettan-clubs:
